What’s Bothering Me: Foley Over D-X, Raw Tonight, Lesnar/HHH

WWE Hall of Fame#1. The WWE Hall of Fame

The rumored D-X induction into this year's WWE Hall of Fame shouldn't happen. It's not needed, first and foremost, as early ticket sales are reportedly higher than any in the past. Shouldn't that answer the question of whether or not Mick Foley is a big enough name to headline on his own?

I'm not giving Foley complete credit necessarily, as I think any WWE event in MSG will find success, but I do think some are underestimating Mick's drawing power.

Maybe it's just me, but I don't really like the idea of groups being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Any Hall of Fame. I don't see my '93 Dallas Cowboys going into the football HOF as a team. Come to think of it, I might not be so opposed to this idea actually!

I understand the logic, and I realize the difference between pro wrestling/entertainment and an actual sports team, but Hall of Fames should be about a person's individual successes, rather than watering it down with groups and tag teams. I think you'd find most members of these HOF-worthy groups would make it on their own accomplishments anyway.

I look at my buddy, Billy Gunn, and his work in D-X, the New Age Outlaws, and outside those two groups altogether. Was Monty Kip Sopp's career, as a whole, worthy of a spot in the pro wrestling Hall of Fame? I think so. Did D-X or his run with Road Dogg make him, or did his talent help make those groups? Personally, I think the latter is more true.

Continuing with Gunn as the example, most would agree that D-X and New Age Outlaws are certainly deserving a HOF spot. But when you take those two out of the equation, do you give Sopp an individual spot as well? That's a much harder argument to make. And wouldn't you be discrediting his individual talents if you never inducted him as a single's star?

If you want to induct every member of D-X individually, but on the same night, I say go for it. I just think having one person inducted into one Hall of Fame multiple times is a bit of a waste, and it waters down the legitimacy of being included in the first place.

As far as this year's HOF is concerned, I say go with Mick as the headliner. It's not too late to change your mind. Save your D-X bid for another year, when it's actually needed.
