Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “Buzz Around TNA”

tnaThis is a special editorial of Impact Wrestling and the future of TNA.

Buzz. It is all about the buzz of the business. TNA featured a live episode of Impact Wrestling last night and it was surrounded with buzz in the air about big news happening.

That big news was Jeff Jarrett being back in a TNA ring. With the way he departed, this is big news. Jarrett’s history with the company is well documented and his departure felt like a divorce that would not have any real finality.

“Never say never.”

Bret Hart came back to WWE. Sting debuted in the WWE. Brock Lesnar is now the biggest asset to Vince McMahon and the WWE. So, why is this so surprising?

I think that the fans wanted more than Jarrett announcing that he was in a match at Slammiversary, even though more should be on the way sooner rather than later. TNA has great talent, but they rarely have buzz around them.

Even though the show featured more returns than a Wal-Mart, it was good. Actually, it was really good. They created a buzz because of one guy and then capitalized on returning guys like Matt Morgan, Vader (even for a brief minute) and Matt Hardy. Buzz can last one week, one month or one year. I do not think that this lasts just a week or two, but I wonder what is next for TNA and GFW.

TNA’s brand is damaged. The name itself carries no real importance. You can point the finger of blame to many people, but why not create a solution instead? Vince Russo stated that he pitched an idea that an “invasion” of other companies would come in and try to take over TNA. Brilliant.

With TNA, ROH, NJPW and other companies having common friends, this could work. All of these companies can come together and create a solution. Who will be in charge? Jeff Jarrett? Jim Ross? Kevin Kelly? Jim Cornette?

The end game cannot be TNA trying to succeed and overcome, but a new brand being born.

Whether you name GFW or something else, TNA and the talented individuals that work for them need a fresh start.

Buzz. One word that means so much. Four letter that can resurrect a company.

Fail. One word that will ultimately define what TNA has been.
