Isenberg Reacts: Impact Wrestling “It’s a Simple Science To Succeed”

Matt Hardy defeated Davey Richards

impact wrestlingIn a new group for the World Title Series, Hardy and Richards are put in the “Tag Team Specialist” group. Hardy, trying to regain his championship back, works a really good match with Davey tonight. The ring psychology was there early and often, with some easy wristlocks and take downs from each guy. They were trying to feel the other one out, but then the pace was quickened. Hardy connects with a neck breaker for a two count and then hits an elbow drop from the second rope to knock out Richards.

Davey gets back on the offense with a suicide dive and then a dropkick from the top. After some reversals, Hardy hits a Side Effect. Davey kicks out at two and then tries a superplex. Hardy jumps off the top rope and Richards kicks Hardy in the chest. Matt moves from a double foot stomp and hits a Twist of Fate for the win.

I really liked these two guys pairing up for some solid ring work tonight. Matt picked up a much needed win on his quest back and there was no better opponent than a guy that has succeeded so much like Matt has, in a tag team division. Am I for MORE guys getting thrown into this “series?” No, but these are two no-brainers that should have easily been included from the very beginning. As time progresses, I see The Wolves potentially getting singles gold and still being one of the best teams out there. Great match to kick things off.

Kenny King defeated Aiden O’Shea

This match started off much different, fast and furious. O’Shea attacked King before the match even began, but Kenny would hit a big boot to ground O’Shea. King continues the assault with some forearm shots and hits a crucifix and a sunset flip for a one count. O’Shea knocks down King with a backbreaker. O’Shea, playing the heel, rakes the eyes of King and sends him to the ring apron. O’Shea charges towards King and King counters with a springboard blockbuster to pick-up the win.

Not much time was put into this match, but I enjoyed it. I enjoyed that they wanted to get all of their moves out and not take up too much time. Sometimes, a quicker match with more emphasis on the young guy trying to take advantage of the “veteran” is a good angle. Since O’Shea has not been exposed as much in TNA, I expected him to get the win. Surprisingly enough, they gave it to a guy who has floated all over the roster in terms of importance. He should NOT be a face, even though his offense caters to the fans.
