Isenberg Reacts: WWE TLC “Are You Ready…For Roman Reigns?”

WWE Tag Team Championships

wwe tlcThe Lucha Dragons, The Uso’s and The New Day did exactly what I thought they would do. They set the bar extremely high and put on one of the best tag team ladder matches in recent memory. It would take a lot of text to talk about the moves that opened my eyes wide, but let’s talk about them briefly.

Obviously, Kalisto was FANTASTIC. He was overall the best guy in this match and is so smooth and decisive with his moves. He hit the Solina Del Sol off of the top of the ladder and crashed through another ladder. Just a spectacular move and dangerous attempt. It paid off and was the best move of the night. Sin Cara launched Kalisto through the air onto a ladder with Jey under it.  As some of the big moves occurred, the ending was near. Xavier Woods storms into the ring and launches the trombone at Kalisto. Kofi knocks Kalisto off the ladder and is able to grab the titles and retain.

After this match, I can honestly say that The Lucha Dragons are legit. They may need to talk a little bit here and there, but they showed the belong on the main roster with an incredible performance. Also, we have seen time and time again how good The Uso’s are. A nice combination of believable strength and quickness gives them the best opportunity to shine in matches like this. They do just enough splash moves and relies more on ground and pound between each move.

Lastly, we all know how good The New Day is as a gimmick. They can be funny and entertaining, but go back to how great each individual is in the ring. Woods completes this team and they are thriving more than anyone on the roster on a consistent basis.

The Dirties Diva in the Game

Charlotte vs. Paige for the Divas Championship delivered in one level: they are really going to swap both women’s previous roles in the fans’ eyes. With a dirty victory over Paige, again, it gives them another month to feud. The finality of this feud may not be until Royal Rumble.

With this match, it was good but not great. There were some spots to it, but the problem is that the intensity leading up to the match far exceeds the actual intensity between the ropes. They want to be clean and want to execute every move, as they should, but sometimes they need to get off the cuff and really add outside elements different from the norm. Paige flips more heel/face than AJ Lee, than Big Show.

This could be a problem down the road, but right now Charlotte much continue the path of transitioning into a heel. She has the look, the lineage and the history on her side. Paige is MUCH more of an underdog and so will other divas like Sasha Banks and Becky Lynch.
