Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “A Sign For The Worse”

Fatal Five Way For The Intercontinental Championship

wwe-raw-social.jpg

The action picks up from a break with some good offense. Dean Ambrose takes over with a neckbreaker and Dolph hits a nice kick to Breeze. A suicide dive from Ambrose takes out Stardust, Tyler Breeze and Dolph Ziggler. He gets back into the ring and hits a swinging neckbreaker and a flying elbow to Kevin Owens. Ambrose continues to unload on Stardust, clotheslines and elbow shots.

Dean goes up top again, but Stardust catches him and Dean headbutts Stardust. Breeze tries to get him off, but to no avail. Dolph leaps and hits a face first drop. Stardust hits a Disaster kick, but then gets hit by Kevin Owens. He hits Cannonballs to three men and then gets kicked by Breeze. All the other men break up the count. Tyler Breeze flies to the outside and Stardust gets hit with a clothesline. Dean begins to unleash, with a Zig Zag and Dirty Deeds at the same time. Owens uses the time to hit Tyler Breeze and win the Intercontinental Championship.

This match was excellent. The action never stopped and all men hit their respected finisher in prompt time. I really enjoyed how each guy did enough offense to put themselves over and not over-expose themselves. Kevin Owens wins the title and it makes sense. Many people are going to think Dean Ambrose could potentially win on Sunday,. Smart booking decision on WWE’s behalf to use the Intercontinental Championship as a ploy to make fans think Ambrose can realistically win on Sunday. The buzz has begun and WWE should get plenty of credit for making this call before the PPV.

Mark Henry vs. Big E

Mark Henry takes control of Big E, hits a driving headbutt and then takes him to the outside. Big E tries to run around but Henry gets distracted. Big E hits a clothesline and then drives him into the barricade. Big E hits some stomps in the corner and New Day continues to make fun of Henry on the mat. Big E hits a big splash and gets a two count. He hits another splash and gets another two count. Henry gives him a hip toss and then a power slam. Woods gets back up on the mat and gets thrown onto Kofi. Mark hits a big boot and Big E tries to hit the Big Ending. Henry falls over and gets pinned.

This was a decent match between two big 300+ pound guys, but I thought the ending was really odd. I get him selling the injury, but it just seemed very out of place and random. I would have rather seen this surprisingly decent match end in a more dramatic way.
