All About The Briefcase

Raw kicks off with all competitors of the Money in the Bank Ladder Match on ladders talking about who is going to win and bashing the other opponent. This prompts all men to begin fighting one another. Teddy Long makes a return and says he is going to take over Raw. Stephanie McMahon stops that and announces Cesaro vs. Chris Jericho, Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose and Alberto Del Rio vs. Sami Zayn for tonight.

Chris Jericho and Cesaro started the action on Raw. Cesaro was beaten down early in the match, with Jericho trying to target the shoulder of Cesaro. Cesaro takes advantage with the Uppercut Train now. After this, Chris Jericho ends up nailing a Codebreaker mid-move and Cesaro ends up on falling to the outside. He gets thrown into the ring and kicks out at two. Chris Jericho kicks out of a big superplex and gets met with a boot. Jericho counters the Neutralizer and gets the Walls of Jericho locked in. Cesaro blocks a catapult and then sends Jericho swinging. He makes him tap out to the Sharpshooter for the win.

Alberto Del Rio defeated Sami Zayn

Another good match on Raw featured Sami and Alberto Del Rio. Both men, similar in offensive attacks, picked up the pace after a commercial break. Sami misses a Helluva kick to take over and the former world champ goes up top. Zayn hangs him up on the ropes and Del Rio hits an enziguri. Del Rio hangs up Sami Zayn and stomps on his chest to pick up the win.

Both matches were really good, but could have been GREAT. I felt like WWE needed to give both matches more time. One pet peeve I have is a commercial break too predictable and too soon in the match. I feel like the audience misses so much during break that really tells the story of struggle and comeback. Cesaro winning was the right call.

Alberto Del Rio winning was not. We know the background from Del Rio and his history winning big matches. Sami needs to be a guy that the fans feel can be a world champion because he is not even close to a few other guys in this match. Jericho, Del Rio and Owens are built stronger and more like championship material. However you view these two outcomes should not whey heavily on what will happen, but do take small notice. WWE could have easily given the other guys the win to throw you off, but they went this route. Overall, two above average matches to give the fans a taste of the competition we can expect in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
