Isenberg Reacts: WWE Smackdown “All About Equality On The Roster”

Tag Team Spotlight

wwe-smackdown-social-6.jpg

The Club comes out and AJ Styles talks about how they all came together to the WWE as a package deal. Enzo and Cass come out and both teams exchange disses. This leads to our first match of the night.

Enzo and Cass face off against Gallows and Anderson in a good match. A tree of woe hangs up Enzo and The heels take control with some kicks and clotheslines. Enzo snaps Anderson’s neck on the ropes and spills Gallows to the outside. With The New Day on commentary, The Vaudevillians come out on the stage. After the break, Cass fires away and ends up hitting a big boot and an elbow. Gallows breaks up the count and then all of the tag teams get involved. Enzo and Cass are the two standing men remaining.

A really good few segments to kick off Smackdown with the spotlight where it needs to be. The tag team championship match could be really good and really tell us where WWE is going to go in the next few months. With Enzo and Cass, they are so over right now. Every crowd loves them and every team loves to hate them. The action was solid between the teams, but all four teams made sure that their offense got in after the no contest decision. Make sure all four teams get a piece of the action, making all four as equal as possible and potentially winners at Money in the Bank.

Alberto Del Rio and Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn and Cesaro

Sami Zayn hits several arm drags on Owens, which makes him tag in Del Rio. After some offense, Kevin Owens leaves and then Sami Zayn runs him down. Cesaro gets his offense in, hitting some somersault senton splashes onto Alberto Del Rio. Back from commercial and Sami Zayn drags Owens to the ring. Owens superkicks Cesaro, but gets suplexed by Zayn. Cesaro connects with a European uppercut. As more action happens, the finish comes when Del Rio gets a double foot stomp, but Owens tosses him out and takes the pin.

Four men who compete at Money in the Bank and Kevin Owens gets the pinfall victory when doing so little. Excellent storytelling here and another example of WWE utilizing all heels and making them get the heat. Sami and Cesaro are two established and still developed faces, where the crowd knows them and their potential is still unlimited. This tag team match was fun, smart and gave a sense of importance in the middle of the night. Smackdown does not always need to end with a tag team match, so the placement kept the pace of the night and made it more enjoyable to watch.
