Sami Zayn is entering a new chapter of his career.
As announced on the October 13 episode of WWE SmackDown, Kevin Owens is moving to the blue brand. As a result, his partnership with Sami Zayn has come to an end for the time being. The duo won the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship during their time together on RAW.
Zayn kicked off the season premiere of WWE RAW on October 16. He addressed Owens’ move to SmackDown and noted that he had mixed feelings. Zayn noted that he knew Owens would do great things on SmackDown. He also said that he was excited to stand on his own and prove that he was a world title-level superstar. Zayn then noted that Jey Uso was the reason for Owens’ move.
The Judgment Day came out and tried to attack Zayn, but Uso made the save. Later in the show, Zayn got frustrated during a conversation with Uso, as he noted that Owens should have been the one saving him, not Uso. Tensions rose, and Zayn apologized. The two friends then hugged, so they were evidently on good terms again.
