Isenberg Reacts: WWE RAW “John Cena and Two Big Chances”

Will Darren Young Be Great Again?

wwe-raw-social-1-2.jpg

After weeks of vignettes, Darren Young somehow wins a Battle Royal to kick off RAW and will face The Miz for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Battleground. When you looked at the ring, you could have guessed either Apollo Crews, Dolph Ziggler or Darren Young. At first, I thought Crews would most certainly be the guy who wins. After seeing the match unfold, as well as how much time they are putting into Backlund and Young, Darren was the right choice.

You need to see what you have in this pairing, giving it a chance to thrive with one of WWE’s best heels. Miz and Maryse can have some really good back and forth with Darren Young and Bob Backlund in the weeks to come. I do think that it COULD work, but I doubt WWE will give the title to Young. With The Miz right now being at the top of his game, he should continue to look as strong and cowardly at the same time as possible. He is thriving and Darren Young will either get a big boost from it or be used as a place filler for a bigger feud to come.

Zack Ryder’s Chances

Are they slim to none? Probably, but WWE is taking another shot at a guy who obviously deserves it. Ryder has gotten bigger, stronger and has worked tirelessly to improve his game in the ring. His loving personality will always be there on the outside, but he did get a little more attitude before his match with Sheamus. The one thing that bothers me about this is that Ryder should not be viewed as a sad little puppy, trying to survive. He is just as big as Sheamus and looks the part. He is not undersized and is not less talented than many of the guys he works with. Stop making him sympathetic and make him a favorite.
