ROH Newswire (9/9): Final iPPV Card, ECW Name To Appear

The entire Ring of Honor crew is in the midst of gearing up and heading out for a HUGE wrestling weekend in Plymouth, MA and New York City. Whether it’s live in attendance on Friday night in Plymouth or purchasing it live on IPPV at www.gofightlive.tv on Saturday, this will be a weekend you don’t want to miss!

– Grizzly Redwood has informed ROH officials that his mystery partner for this Saturday night at “Glory By Honor IX” will be none other than Ballz Mahoney. Back in May at “Supercard of Honor V” Erick Stevens pinned Grizzly Redwood. After the match, The Embassy began to beat on Grizzly until Ballz Mahoney made a surprise appearance, coming in to save Grizz, and chasing off Stevens and company. Grizz has been beaten and injured on multiple occasions by The Embassy but has never gave up, and has now called on his buddy Ballz to help him out in the Manhattan Center. Ballz Mahoney wrestling in an ROH ring is definitely intriguing but will he be enough to help Grizz successfully finish his war with The Embassy? Or will Necro Butcher and Erick Stevens run through this unusual duo like Nana has claimed????

– “Glory by Honor IX” this Saturday could possibly be our best iPPV yet. However events the night before in Plymouth, MA could put a different spin on the announced lineup. Will Christopher Daniels defeat Tyler Black sending him to the top of the ranks and throw Black off of his mental and physical game in his big championship match with Roderick Strong in NYC? Strong is in the same situation as a defeat in Plymouth by the hands of newcomer Mike Bennett would definitely halt Strong’s momentum going into the biggest mach of his career. El Generico and Colt Cabana could walk into their Double Chain Match in New York City this Saturday as ROH Tag Team Champions as in Plymouth, MA on Friday both men have the opportunity for gold as they will take on The King’s of Wrestling. Erick Stevens could potentially win the ROH Television championship from Eddie Edwards and a win for the Embassy would make Edwards encounter with Shawn Daivari in NYC a one on one match with no title involved. Make no doubt about it that the aftermath of Plymouth could influence Glory by Honor heavily. Tickets for Plymouth will be available to purchase at the door on the night of the show!!!

– Kenny King and Rhett Titus have not only been climbing the ranks with impressive matches and victories but they have also been responsible for putting both Jerry Lynn out of action in the past and most recently putting Delirious on the shelf for the foreseeable future. This has led the All Night Express to an arrogant self confidence that is making them one of the most threatening teams in ROH today. The team will be in action on Friday in Plymouth but will each have singles matches in NYC against Jay and Mark Briscoe on Saturday. King and Titus have said that they started as singles wrestlers and are both better singles wrestlers then Jay and Mark will ever be.

– Kyle O’Reilly will have a Do or Die opportunity this Friday in Plymouth, MA as he squares off against Ring of Honor veteran Austin Aries. O’Reilly hails from Vancouver, British Columbia and is a student of Davey Richards. The young O’Reilly has recently made a name for himself on the independent scene and he will have the test of his life this Friday. Aries has stated that he has trained and conditioned himself to the max for this weekend as he has something to prove against Christopher Daniels in NYC. O’Reilly will have to be more focused then ever before to survive the wrestling machine that is “A Double” Austin Aries.

Upon reading this Shane Hagadorn felt compelled to contact ROH officials and simply say, “This would never have happened if it wasn’t for me. You’re welcome, Eddie.”
