A few names backstage at the Saturday Night’s Main Event in Detroit this past Saturday included Michael Cole and three of the four main WWE creative writers. Brian Gewirtz and Ed Koskie of the RAW writing team were in attendance, while Alex Greenfield was the sole member of the SmackDown writing team present. We were told Michael Cole was at the event incase another play by play man was needed for the show at last second. David Lagana of the SmackDown writing team and Joey Styles were not at the event.

While many within WWE were very disappointed with the final 3.1 rating Saturday Night’s Main Event drew on NBC, one positive that came out of the number was that the show drew a high rating in the 18-49 demographic and was up over what NBC usually does in the Saturday night timeslot. There still remains no word on if the show will remain in the same timeslot this July when another event takes place in Dallas, TX based on the lower number they garnered.

World Wrestling Entertainment has announced that William “The Refrigerator” Perry (who competed for the then WWF at WrestleMania 2 as part of an NFL/WWF Battle Royal) and Tony Atlas will be added as inductees into the 2006 WWE Hall of Fame ceremony this year on April 1 in Chicago, IL. Perry and Atlas join Bret Hart, Eddie Guerrero, Mean Gene Okerlund, Sensational Sherri, Verne Gagne and The Blackjacks for this year’s upcoming ceremony. It has yet to be announced who will be inducting Perry and Atlas at the event.
