Report: WWE Day 1 Event No Longer Being Held In 2023

The only WWE Premium Live Event on the calendar between Survivor Series and Royal Rumble is reportedly no longer being held, at least not on the originally scheduled date with the Day 1 name.

In a new report from Wrestlenomics, the event is believed to be canceled in 2023. Wrestlenomics was unable to confirm a reason for cancellation. As of this writing, the event remains posted on State Farm Arena’s website. Tickets were never officially made available for sale to the public.

Dave Meltzer reported a few days ago that WWE was considering moving the show to a new date with a new name and that was why ticket sales were delayed. Day 1 being held on Sunday, January 1 would have gone head-to-head on Peacock with NBC’s last Sunday Night Football game of the regular season. Previously, WWE would hold the TLC: Tables, Ladders, Chairs event in December. The event has not been held since 2020.

Wrestlezone will provide updates on the event as they come in.
