Backstage: Kurt Angle and AJ Styles are backstage arguing over who should face Kazarian in the match later tonight. Angle says that Styles gets too emotional, and questions whether he can get the job done. He allows AJ to take the match against Kaz if he can guarantee a win for them later tonight. As Styles walks off Wes Brisco enters the scene and "hugs it out" with Angle; the two walk off to watch Styles' match.
We get a video package highlighting Storms' loss to Bully Ray at No Surrender and the escalating rivalry between Storm and Bobby Roode.
Bobby Roode Returns!
Bobby Roode makes his way to the ring, wearing a pretty nice suit. He tells the Impact Zone he's back, and offers as a "recap" of the events of the last few months. He says he was "screwed" in his matches with Austin Aries, so he "took his ball and went home." The crowd chants "go back home" and Roode simply smirks. He talks about having to watch James Storm win week after week and inch his way closer and closer to the World Heavyweight Championship. Right on cue James Storm makes his way to the ring and the brawl starts as soon as he steps between the ropes.
Storm lights up Roode with right after right, taking him outside the ring and choking him with his tie and throwing him into various barricades and walls. The two head outside as we go to a commercial break.
If Styles Wins, He Gets Tag Title Shot
The two rivals lock up in the middle of the ring, with Styles taking the first advantage with several arm drags. Kazarian tries to hide in the ropes, but Styles throws a forearm, sending him to the outside. Kazarian tries to springboard into the ring but Styles catches him in a powerbomb position and tries to transition into Styles Clash; Kazarian manages to escape to the outside.
We come back with Kazarian on the advantage, but Styles catches him with a backbreaker to turn the tide. Styles runs into the corner, but Kaz ducks under and throws him to the apron. Kaz tries to suplex Stylse into the ring, but they both end up on the apron and Styles hits a modified DDT onto the apron! Somehow Kazarian manages to get back up and counter AJ's assult, sending him crashing into the guard rail. Kaz rolls back into the ring and Sytles follows as the ref was at a count of '8'.
AJ reaches down and finds some momentum yet again, hitting a springboard flying elbow, followed by the Pele kick. He gets hiim up and nails the Styles Clash for the 3-count!
Winner: AJ Styles
