Backstage Incident Takes Place at PWS Show

As we noted in our results report of the show, Sabu came out to ringside before the Jushin Liger vs John Morrison bout at last night’s PWS event in New Jersey.

According to PWInsider.com, Sabu’s involvement in the match was not planned, and Sabu went out to the ring without PWS officials being notified.

The report notes that PWS attempted to book Sabu in a match for show but due to his high asking price, officials decided against it but Sabu ended up signing anyways. PWS officials were furious that Sabu made his way to ringside before the bout as they felt it confused fans ultimately lead to disappointment when Sabu failed to involve himself in the bout as fans likely expected.

When Sabu’s booking agent Eric Simms was confronted about it, it led to a physical altercation during which Simms was smacked by Pat Buck and hit by Eric Tapout before being physically removed from the locker room by Kevin Matthews.

It’s being said that Eric Simms likely sent Sabu out to the ring as a way to generate more interest in Sabu for autographs and photos after the event.
