WWE Monday Night Raw is live from Richmond, VA tonight, but a few top stars will not be in attendance. WWE is also running a live event in Toronto, ON tonight at the same time as Raw, and both WWE Heavyweight Champion Randy Orton and John Cena are being advertised to appear. WWE Tag Team Champions Cody Rhodes and Goldust, as well as Big Show, Alberto del Rio, Kane, Antonio Cesaro and Sin Cara are also being advertised for the house show.
This could be a reason WWE decided to spoil the return of Brock Lesnar, who should be making an appearing on Monday Night Raw. As we reported, Big E Langston mentioned Lesnar and an attack he will make tonight, during a Smackdown taping event this weekend in Washington D.C. Given that Langston's promo was pre-recorded backstage, WWE didn't need to run the segment for the live crowd at all. It likely that due to the lack of John Cena and Randy Orton at tonight's Raw, WWE wanted to leak the rumors of Brock Lesnar to compensate for live attendance and what could have been a ratings drop without two of their top stars.
