As seen on this week's Impact Wrestling, vignettes for a character named "Willow" began airing. The video quite obviously featured top TNA star Jeff Hardy behind a masking, holding a black and white umbrella, talking about his past, and the "death" of some one – presumably a version of his former self.
Very earlier in his career, prior to signing a contract with the WWE, Jeff Hardy played several characters in the OMEGA wrestling promotion that he started alongside his brother Matt, with the help of several other pro wrestlers. One of these characters was "Willow the Whisp", named after the paranormal occurrences known as "will-o'-the-wisp" in folklore. The Hardy Boyz recently brought back the OMEGA promotion, and in October Jeff made an appearance as Willow.
As has been reported, Jeff Hardy was taken off television last month to prepare for the annual TNA UK tour, but has been advertised to make his return for next month's Lockdown PPV. It is unknown at this tme whether there are plans for Hardy to return as the Willow character only, or whether they plan to do something similar to the Abyss/Joseph Park situation, where both would be active on television for a period of time.
