John Cena Talks Wanting to Become the U.S. Champion, Facing Rusev at WrestleMania, Which John Cena Will We See at ‘Mania?

John Cena is the guest on this week’s sit down interview with Michael Cole, and you can watch it in full below. The following are some highlights:

-Cole asks Cena if his match against Rusev at WrestleMania is more about John Cena having “another match at WrestleMania.” Cena says it’s not, and says he was served “humble pie” by Stephanie McMahon when she told him WWE would be fine without him. He said his match against Rusev is very important to him because it’s about brining the United States Championship back home. Cena says he respects Rusev as an athlete, but is tired of listening to him run down America every week.

-Cole asks Cena if he’s ever thought WrestleMania 31 might be “it” for him, and Cena says he has had those thoughts, but every time he is down, he comes back fighting. He said he couldn’t get the job done against Brock Lesnar at the Rumble or Rusev at Fastlane, and if he doesn’t win at WrestleMania, he will have to face the consequences. But Cena said he has made a pact with himself. When he can’t keep up with the WWE superstars in the ring anymore, then he will gracefully bow out instead of hanging around too long.

-Cole asks which John Cena we will see at WrestleMania, and Cena says he has heard the critics say they don’t like Cena the character but they respect Cena the man. He says at WrestleMania, we are going to see a man fight for what he believes in.
