WWE NXT Champion Kevin Owens is the guest on this week’s sit down interview with Michael Cole, which you can watch entirely at this link. Below are some highlights:
On why he attacked Machinegun Kelly on Raw this week, Owens said The Authority made him issue the apology for the attack but it was not heartfelt. He said the attack “is what it is.” Owens said MGK wanted to be a hero on Raw this week, and it reminded him of John Cena. Owens said MGK does not belong on Raw, but he does, and he just got carried away. Owens said he would not have attacked MGK had Cena been on Raw, because that’s who Owens wanted to deal with.
When Cole brought up John Cena giving Owens props after their Money in the Bank match, Owens said that wasn’t Cena trying to show him respect, it was Cena trying to hog the spotlight. Owens said he didn’t need to hear that from Cena right after their match, and as for the match being great, Owens said he’s been having great matches for 15 years.
Owens said when the feud with Cena first started it wasn’t about The United States title. But now that Cena has defeated him, Owens said he wants to take the title from him.
