Former WCW Valet Rejected Vince McMahon’s Alleged Advances Because She Was Engaged

Former WCW and WWF valet Missy Hyatt has revisited a difficult chapter from her wrestling career, explaining why she says she rejected alleged advances from Vince McMahon during her brief WWF run in 1987.

While reflecting on that period, Hyatt also shared how she believes the decision affected her role in the company before she eventually left for WCW.

Hyatt’s latest comments came during an appearance on Talk Is Jericho. She discussed her short-lived WWF stint and the events that followed.

According to Hyatt, plans for her “Missy’s Manor” segment came to an end after the alleged incident. She said WWF management instead wanted her to become a “Federette” — a ringside assistant responsible for taking wrestlers’ entrance jackets.

When Chris Jericho remarked, “I like that Vince asked you to become one of the Federettes,” Hyatt recalled being unhappy with both the role and the attire she was expected to wear.

“They had brought panty hose for me… I was like, ‘Not wearing that.’ Like that was so degrading to me,” Hyatt said. “You want me to take a ring jacket? I thought that was just so beneath me.”

Hyatt then reflected on a decision she believes changed the course of her WWF run.

“I should have done it. And I should have slept with him too because he tried and I wouldn’t. But I was engaged, you know… I do have a little bit of honor.”

Hyatt said she was engaged to professional wrestler “Hot Stuff” Eddie Gilbert at the time. This emerged as the reason she rejected the alleged advance.

Her comments follow previous public statements made after former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a civil lawsuit accusing McMahon of sex trafficking and sexual assault. Hyatt has previously said she contacted Grant’s legal team to share her alleged 1987 experience and offered to serve as a witness regarding what she described as a historical pattern of behavior. McMahon has denied Grant’s allegations and has consistently denied allegations of sexual misconduct.

After leaving the WWF, Hyatt said she found a fresh opportunity in Jim Crockett Promotions, later known as WCW. She credited Jim Ross with helping reshape her career.

“What really happened was Jim Ross gave me the opportunity to be a co-host with him,” Hyatt said. “I think… my best stuff I ever did was with my ‘Missy Does the Mail’ segments.”

Hyatt has also previously stated that she left the WWF because she no longer trusted the environment, later seeking a new opportunity with Jim Crockett Promotions, where she went on to establish herself as one of wrestling’s most recognizable personalities.
