WWE officially said announcer Tom Phillips was not injured, and there was no issue with him, despite people thinking he actually was hurt.

WWE.com sold the (storyline) incident, which saw Stephanie McMahon slap him in the face on RAW, and said Phillips returned home and wouldn’t appear on Smackdown. Phillips got hit pretty hard in the temple by Stephanie, leaving people to think he was really shaken up, but he no sold it because there’s no upside in him saying anything. The Observer also noted that the real complaint here is a non-wrestler taking several unnecessary shots to the head, and Triple H being on Chris Nowinski’s concussion board was pointed out as being somewhat ironic.
