On the following Instagram post from WWE claiming he was backstage at WWE Roadblock:

@brethitmanhart was backstage to watch @natbynature’s match at #WWERoadblock!

A photo posted by WWE (@wwe) on

BH: The truth is that picture was taken in my living room. I’m not even allowed to travel. I can’t travel anywhere and I was not there. I don’t know why they would say I was there when I wasn’t. I wish I was there but in fact the truth is I was not there and that picture was taken from my living room.

On how he feels about WWE using his personal life and whereabouts to tell stories:

BH: I just don’t understand the need for it. Clearly people must think for sure that I am doing really good. That I am up flying around, jet setting, hanging around with everyone in the dressing room there. Being there to coach Nattie on. I wish I was but I have had some pretty serious surgery in the last month and it’s going to take a little while before I can get up and going. I’ve got some dates in April that I’ve got to make. I have to talk to my doctor about those. I am just barely going to be able to make those. It’s going to be touch and go. Every week I get a little better and every day I get a little stronger. I am looking forward to being that guy they are talking about flying around and being backstage. I would love to have been there for Natalya. Just to be there and watch her work. I did watch her match and that’s where that picture came from. The true enjoyment of watching Natalya and Charlotte have a great match. Watching my old buddy Ric Flair poking his nose in from the outside. It brought back a good feeling watching it on TV and being kind of connected. Why WWE would actually say I was there and in the dressing room and give that impression is a mystery to me.
