Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting Tommaso Ciampa is expected to be sidelined until early 2018 to recover from his knee injury.
Ciampa is expected to be out until March of next year while he recovers from surgery to repair a torn ACL he suffered the week of NXT Takeover: Chicago in May. Ciampa did return on a recent episode of NXT to cut a promo about why he turned on Johnny Gargano, and made the claim that he would be a very dangerous man when he does return.
Ciampa is expected to resume a feud with former DIY partner Gargano when he does get cleared for action. Gargano, on the other hand, did take part in the last set of NXT TV tapings at Full Sail University and gave an update on his return status during an in-ring promo.
