‘Young Rock’ Season 2 Reported To Cover The Rock’s First Year In WWE; Casting Underway For Attitude Era Stars

Season two of Young Rock is going to step in the ring a little sooner than expected for our “People’s Champion” protagonist. It’s being reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider that the second season will have a focus on The Rock’s rookie year in WWE. According to the report, the roles that are looking to be casted are The Undertaker, Triple H, Downtown Bruno (aka: Harvey Whippleman) and The Brooklyn Brawler who The Rock had his first ever match with.

There is also news that an episode will be focused around the Memphis territory and it will feature legend Bill Dundee. This report lines up with a casting call for names like Jerry Lawler, Tommy Rich and the late Bam Bam Bigelow earlier on. Names included for casting in a previous report were The Rock’s grandfather, Peter Maivia and other legends such as Gene Okerlund, Freddie Blassie and Big John Studd.

Johnson is also reporting that the roles of both Ric Flair and Roddy Piper will be recast. Grayson Waller of NXT 2.0 portrayed Flair in the first season, but due to his schedule he’ll be unable to reprise the role.
