Gail Kim Always Had Gisele Shaw In Mind For IMPACT’s Knockouts Roster, Praises Her Athletic Ability

Gail Kim says she had her eye on Gisele Shaw for quite some time.

Ella Jay of SEScoops spoke with Gail Kim, who spoke about Gisele Shaw’s arrival in IMPACT Wrestling and how the “Quintessential Diva” arrived at the perfect time. Kim said that she wanted to bring Shaw in for a while, but she had been working overseas with RevPro and Progress.

Kim says Shaw eventually decided she was ready to pursue a career in the United States, and Kim shared the advice she gave Shaw for being able to take control of her career and do both.

“I actually wanted her for a little while because I saw that she had a really athletic side and we were kind of lacking a little bit of the high flying action. I like a little diversity in terms of our athletes, so I always had her in my mind,” Kim noted. “I mentioned her a few times and we finally asked her, but she was in the UK and she kind of was happy there for the moment.

“And then I would say maybe two months later or so, a very short time period, she changed her mind and she said, ‘okay, you know what? I’ve accomplished what I wanted to in the UK and I want to be part of the Knockouts [division].’ And I said, ‘I think that’s the best decision you’ve ever made because you can go back to the UK, work for Progress while you’re working for us, make a name for yourself here in the United States.’ And you know, I’ve just been aware of her for years now, so I just thought she’d be a great fit.”

Shaw is a former two-time RevPro Undisputed British Women’s Champion and the current Progress World Women’s Champion. She made her in-ring debut for IMPACT on the February 17 episode of IMPACT Wrestling on AXS.
