The NXT Heritage Cup went to sleep with the fishes, and it looks like it will stay there.
WWE quietly removed the NXT Heritage Cup from its list of active championships, and it is now listed as a retired title. The Heritage Cup was originally introduced as the NXT UK Heritage Cup in September 2020. A-Kid, Tyler Bate, Noam Dar and Mark Coffey all held the title before it was designated as a championship on the main NXT show.
Dar held the title once again, along with other champions including Charlie Dempsey, Tony D’Angelo, Lexis King and Channing ‘Stacks’ Lorenzo, who was the final champion. Stacks never lost the title, as his former partner (and current NXT Champion) Tony D’Angelo threw it over a bridge to “sleep with the fishes.”
WWE officially recognizes Stacks’ reign as lasting 17 days, from June 24, 2025 to July 12, 2025.
Despite losing the Heritage Cup, WWE NXT still has plenty of titles to compete for, including the Men’s and Women’s Speed Championships, currently held by Lexis King and Wren Sinclair.
In total, the NXT Heritage Cup is recognized as having 13 title holders (9 different competitors), with Dar’s second reign of 292 days standing as the longest reign in its existence. Noam Dar is also the wrestler with the most cumulative days as champion, holding the title for 798 days across four overall reigns.
