AEW Rampage Results (5/13/22): TNT Championship Bout And More

On May 13, for the second week in a row, All Elite Wrestling will deliver AEW Rampage at a special early start time of 5:30 p.m. EST.

Scorpio Sky will defend the TNT Championship against his former tag team partner, Frankie Kazarian. Plus, Ruby Soho will take on Riho in a first-round bout in the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Elsewhere on the show, Death Triangle will face The Butcher, The Blade, and Marq Quen. Finally, Shawn Spears will battle Bear Boulder of Bear Country.

The results are as follows:

Death Triangle (Rey Fenix, Penta Oscuro, and PAC) vs. The Butcher, The Blade, & Marq Quen

Penta and The Blade start the bout, and the masked man gains the upper hand. PAC tags in and takes the fight to The Blade. The Butcher overpowers PAC and slams him into the apron. PAC rallies with a springboard dropkick. Quen tags in and squares off with Rey Fenix. He hits a pop-up dropkick and mocks Penta’s signature taunt. Fenix takes him down with a corkscrew arm drag. Quen sends him to the outside with a dropkick. The AFO members gang up on Fenix and stop him from tagging out. The Butcher and The Blade double-team him, and Quen dives onto PAC and Penta on the outside. The Butcher floors Fenix with a lariat.

Fenix perseveres and catches The Blade with a kick to the head. Penta finally tags in and clears house with a flurry of offense. He plants The Butcher with a DDT. PAC enters the bout and suplexes Quen for a two count. The Lucha Brothers hit the Fear Factor on Quen, and PAC pins him with the Black Arrow.

Winners: Death Triangle

House of Black confronts Death Triangle and disappear after the lights go out.

Shawn Spears vs. Bear Boulder

Spears does the “10” taunt in Boulder’s face. Boulder overpowers Spears, but “The Chairman” rakes his eye and hits the C4 for the win.

Winner: Shawn Spears

After the bout, Spears attacks Boulder with a chair and says, “Wardlow, the Giant Killer is coming.”

Backstage, Tony Nese and “Smart” Mark Sterling discuss the announcement about their tag team bout against HookHausen. Sterling says he doesn’t even have trunks, so the match won’t happen. Nese says everything is fine because he’s a premier athlete, so he can beat the duo himself.

Owen Hart Foundation Tournament quarterfinal: Riho vs. Ruby Soho

Riho and Soho feel each other out early on. “The Runaway” hits a shoulder tackle, but Soho catches her with a roll-up doe a two count. The former AEW Women’s World Champion takes Soho down with a head-scissors and hits a standing stomp. Soho slams Riho face-first into the turnbuckle. The two competitors trade blows. Riho blocks the No Future and wrenches Soho’s leg in a Bow and Arrow. A diving stomp through the ropes gives Riho even more momentum. She grounds Soho, but the latter fires up and targets her opponent’s arm with an arm-bar. Riho gets a two count with a backslide. She gets another two count with a Northern Lights suplex.

The former champion maintains the advantage, but Soho rolls through a crossbody for a near fall. Riho plants Soho with a Crucifix Bomb for another near fall. Soho keeps fighting and dumps Riho on her head with a backdrop driver. She hits the Blade Runner for the win.

Winner: Ruby Soho

Billy Gunn oversees a meeting between Gunn Club and The Acclaimed. He notes that they’re a faction now. Both halves think of taunts and catchphrases. Billy likes the ideas The Acclaimed comes up with and shoots down his sons’ ideas. He says he got the quartet a match on Dark: Elevation.

In-ring segment: Jade Cargill and The Baddies

Cargill tells Tony Schiavone to “cut the s***”. The veteran broadcaster announces that Hikaru Shida will not be able to compete in the Owen Hart Foundation Women’s Tournament because she’s recovering from an injury. Sterling says that Red Velvet should win the bout due to forfeit, and Schiavone informs him that the replacement opponent will be Kris Statlander. She comes to the stage and stares down Velvet. They’ll face off next week on AEW Rampage.

In pre-match promos, Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky hype up the main event. Sky tells Dan Lambert and Ethan Page to take the night off.

TNT Championship: Scorpio Sky (c) vs. Frankie Kazarian

The former tag team partners feel each other out, and they’re evenly matched early on. Both men are down after they butt heads. They trade counters, and Kazarian gets a two count with a backslide. The champion sends Kaz to the outside and dives onto him. Back in the ring, Sky grounds the challenger and traps him in an abdominal stretch. Sky maintains the upper hand, but Kaz rallies and gets a two count with a roll-up. The challenger counters the TKO into an inside cradle for a two count. Kazarian gets another two count with a springboard moonsault. Kaz spikes Sky with a cutter for yet another two count. Dan Lambert comes to the ring when Kazarian locks in the crossface chicken wing. With the official distracted, Ethan Page blasts Kaz with the title belt. The challenger kicks out of a pin, but Sky hits the TKO to retain.

Winner and still TNT Champion: Scorpio Sky

After the bell, Sky celebrates with Lambert and Page. He halps Kazarian up, and when Kaz informs him of Page’s interference, Sky yells at him. Page yells back and questions whose team he’s on. Sky blasts Kazarian with the title, and Men of the Year beat down Kazarian. Sammy Guevara and Tay Conti chase them out of the ring to close the show.
