Chris Jericho And Kuarantine Release Latest Single ‘Silver Spoon’

Chris Jericho and Kuarantine are back with their latest cover song from the KISS katalog.

Kuarantine, the 1980s-era KISS cover band featuring Chris Jericho, has released their latest single “Silver Spoon” ahead of the band’s performance this weekend at Creatures Fest. “Silver Spoon” was originally released by KISS in 1989 on the Hot In The Shade album. The new track is now available via Madison Records with distribution by The Orchard, and it is the fourth release overall from Kuarantine, following “No No No,” “Heart Of Chrome” and “Love’s A Deadly Weapon”.

“I’m pleasantly surprised as to how much attention and buzz Kuarantine has achieved since we released our first song only a few years ago!” said Chris Jericho. “Record companies…and groupies…have been sliding into our DMs daily with requests, offers, endorsements, and the question, ‘What’s the next track gonna be?’. Well, the time has come to unleash ‘Silver Spoon’ and turn the rock n roll world into a damn zoo. Let us see all the animals!”

Paul Stanley of KISS also praised Kuarantine’s most recent effort, saying that it was “My favorite song on Hot In The Shade by far. Sounds great…well done!”

On Saturday, May 28, Kuarantine will be performing at Creatures Fest in Nashville, a 3-day music festival that will see all four living former KISS members – Ace Frehley, Bruce Kulick, Peter Criss, Vinnie Vincent – playing at the same event for the first time. One day later, Jericho will compete at AEW Double Or Nothing in a ten-man “Anarchy In The Arena” match, teaming with Matt Menard, Angelo Parker, Daniel Garcia, and Jake Hager against the Blackpool Combat Club (Jon Moxley and Bryan Danielson), Santana, Ortiz and Eddie Kingston.

Chris Jericho and Fozzy recently announced a 20-date fall tour schedule in support of the band’s new album, Boombox. Read more details about where Fozzy will be touring in North America at this link.

Jericho also spoke with WrestleZone about the idea behind Kuarantine, which was formed during the early months of the pandemic. Jericho said the project is a perfect example of how people could staying creative, seeing it as the perfect way for a band to put out new content and entertain while adding a fun twist.

Jericho also shared why this specific, “non-makeup” era of KISS appeals to him and how it stood out by today’s standards.

“That’s when I discovered KISS. The first KISS song that I ever really heard, besides whatever you heard in the background growing up, the first one I ever paid attention to was “Heaven’s on Fire” from 1984 from Animalize,” Jericho said. “I went back and discovered KISS with make-up afterward, but to me, the ’80s version was great! And that’s when I went to high school so every album that came out you would know about it and read about it in the magazines and be waiting for it. So I think the best music is music that you focused on and has life meaning for you. I can think back to where I was when all of these records came out.”

“It just appeals to me, and then the fact that nobody really knows these songs and you’re hearing them for the first time. That’s why ‘No No No’ is getting all of this airplay, you’re hearing this song that begins with a minute-long drum and guitar solo, [thinking] ‘who is doing this in 2020?’ The answer is nobody, so it opens up a bit of a market for Kuarantine, where some people might think it’s great ‘original’ music but it’s really not. And, like I said, there’s really no plan for this and it just sort of happened because all of us are sitting here and doing nothing. We decided ‘let’s change that’ and be creative and provide content for the people that want to hear it.”
