AEW World Championship Match Set For 9/21 AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam

A new AEW World Champion will be crowned at AEW Dynamite: Grand Slam.

The September 14 episode of AEW Dynamite featured two semi-finals matches in the Tournament of Champions. In the first bout, Jon Moxley took on Sammy Guevara. Tay Melo and Anna JAS interfered on behalf of Guevara, with Melo hitting Moxley with a low-blow. Despite that, Moxley still was victorious after hitting Guevara with Death Rider.

In the second bout, Chris Jericho and Bryan Danielson clashed in a rematch from All Out. Danielson’s left foot was targeted for a majority of the match, but that wasn’t enough to stop the American Dragon. Danielson managed to tap out Jericho to secure his spot in the tournament finals.

Jon Moxley will now take on Danielson to crown the new AEW World Champion on September 21 at the first night of AEW’s Grand Slam event at Arthur Ashe Stadium in New York City.

Below is the updated Grand Slam lineup:

  • AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley vs. Bryan Danielson
  • AEW Word Tag Team Championship: Swerve in Our Glory (c) vs. The Acclaimed
  • AEW Interim Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm vs. Britt Baker vs. Athena vs. Serena Deeb
  • AEW All-Atlantic Championship: PAC (c) vs. Orange Cassidy

WrestleZone will have complete coverage of the show as it airs next Wednesday.
