AJ Lee Confirms Return To WWE Programming

AJ Lee‘s in-ring future is still up in the air, but the WWE star did confirm her next appearance on an upcoming series.

During an appearance on the State Of Mind with Maurice Benard podcast, AJ confirmed that she will appear on the next season of WWE: Unreal on Netflix.

“The balancing act of trying to fit two careers into one life has been interesting,” AJ Lee said.

Bernard joked that she had a Netflix show but he didn’t know what it was because he didn’t have his notes, prompting AJ to share more about what she’s been working on, including the Unreal appearance.

“I spent the last, ten months, eight months on RAW on Netflix, I’m going to be doing Unreal, the documentary series for WWE, also on Netflix. And then I’m still writing and producing, I have a production company called Scrappy Heart Productions and our goal is just to make underdogs the stars of their own stories.”

AJ said that she’s producing her first feature-length film, an adaptation of the short film Aimee Comes First, which premiered at the 2025 Tribeca Film Festival.

Will AJ Lee wrestle again?

AJ Lee has not appeared on WWE programming since losing the WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship to Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 42. While it was originally reported that WWE was open to Lee returning down the line, the company didn’t have any immediate storyline plans for her.

A recent report from WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select suggested that AJ Lee is not expected to return to WWE TV anytime soon. During her last appearance at the WrestleMania 42 post-show, Lee left the door open for her return, adding that she hopes she would see the WWE Universe again soon.
