Dax Harwood Hopes FTR Can Work With Main Event Level Talent In 2023

Dax Harwood has his eyes set on FTR squaring off with the main event talent of All Elite Wrestling in 2023.

On the latest episode of FTR with Dax Harwood, the All Elite Wrestling star spoke about feeling like FTR is finally over and wanting to come up with ways to keep that momentum in the months ahead.

“Whatever we decide to do, wherever we decide to go, I feel that we need — man, I can already see all the bad things being said about me, but I feel like we are finally over,” Dax Harwood said. “I feel it started last year, and I think now that we were gone for a bit, we came back, and the people actually missed us, man. And we missed them.

“That’s the sign of being over, not just being cheered or getting this is awesome chants or people popping for your move. That’s not over, being over is making these people feel, and I’m just so blessed. Cash and I are fortunate enough that these people do feel a certain way about us, and I feel that they also feel that we feel a certain way about them. So it’s reciprocated.

“But you know, if we stick around in AEW after the thing with The Gunns is over with, we have to be presented as main event-level guys. We have to be presented, no pun intended, as top guys. We need to work with main event-level talent. Because if we don’t, if we don’t get an opportunity to sink our teeth into something that people perceive to be main event level stuff. Main event quality stuff, then the same thing that happened last year is going to happen this year, I feel.”

Harwood pitched The Blackpool Combat Club as an example of a group FTR would love to work with once their storyline with The Gunns concludes.

“So for me, like for example, it seems like the Blackpool Combat Club kind of have a new attitude,” Dax Harwood said. “And they look at things differently now than they did just a few weeks ago. And the people don’t really like them for it.

“And Moxley has been presented as a main event level guy for three years straight here at AEW, but outside of even AEW before that, he was presented as a main event level guy there, so he’s got a built-in equity. And so I feel that after us and The Gunns are done, if we stick around with AEW, we need to work with someone like that. We need to work with like a Mox and Claudio.”

Harwood also expressed his desire to have an actual angle with The Young Bucks this year to prove who the best tag team in the world is.

“And I guess I’ll say it and see what happens or what gets said, but I think right now is the perfect opportunity for FTR to work with The Young Bucks and get an actual angle, get an actual feud, and see who really is the best tag team in the world,” Dax Harwood said. “That’s something that I think in AEW should happen.

“That’s the thing like if we have one angle, that’s the top of the card feud main event feud, then the people have a perception of us, and then we can continue to grow, and the people we work with can grow as well. But that’s my opinion of what we could do here.”
