Will Ospreay Looks To Get Back On Track, TNA Snake Eyes Is A ‘Pure Assassin Job’

Will Ospreay looks to gain momentum in Las Vegas.

Ospreay will square off against former Impact World Champion Josh Alexander at TNA Snake Eyes in Las Vegas. This is the second match between the two, with the first one taking place in November 2023 on IMPACT Wrestling TV.

Ospreay spoke with WrestleZone Managing Editor Bill Pritchard ahead of the highly anticipated rematch and shared how he’s looking to regain some momentum. Ospreay noted his recent pair of losses in NJPW, one of which took place at Wrestle Kingdom 18. Heading into TNA Snake Eyes, though, Ospreay is confident that he can put himself back on a winning track.

“I can’t be going into a company with a bad loss record right now. I always enter the year with a little bit of a slow start to get out of the blocks. But I need to be starting a new company… I need momentum with me, so I’m not willing to put myself down a peg,” Ospreay said.

“I’m not going to be laying down for anybody,” Ospreay added. “As far as I’m concerned, this is business for me. As emotional as TNA is going to be with my name underneath it, the moment the bell rings, every single bit of emotion goes out of me. And this is a pure assassin job.”

Assassin’s Creed

Speaking of Assassins, Ospreay recently shared how much the Assassin’s Creed video game series meant to him. Ospreay wore Assassin’s themed ring gear at Wrestle Kingdom 18, and later shared how much of an influence the game had on his life.

“For the last 11 years I’ve modelled myself around the games you guys have produced. To have yours & Ubisoft blessing and to collaborate of the entrance was truly incredible. Without those games I don’t think I would have a roof over my head. Thank you #WeAreAssassins,” Will Ospreay said in a Twitter post.

In the spirit of WrestleZone’s Watch List feature, Ospreay was asked if there’s an AC game that’s a good entry point for new fans.

“I would go for Assassin’s Creed Revelations. Just because then I think you can already get an idea of who Ezio is, and then the backstory behind the assassins from there. If you were going to go like, ‘Okay, what game do I need to play first and hook me?’ I would be like, ‘That one.'”

Will Ospreay vs. Josh Alexander takes place at TNA Snake Eyes in Las Vegas on January 13.
