Mina Shirakawa Reflects On Wrestling Without Family Support

Mina Shirakawa revealed that she continues to receive little support from her parents in her wrestling career.

Mina recently joined Renee Paquette for a session of Close-Up on the AEW YouTube channel. When asked about how she became a fan of wrestling, Mina Shirakawa opened up about how her parents were against her wrestling wishes.

She said that her parents did not approve of her pursuing the entertainment industry as they wanted her to take over her father’s business. However, upon watching a NJPW show in Ryōgoku Sumo Hall, Mina Shirakawa realized that she had to fight for her own dreams.

Unfortunately, Mina Shirakawa’s parents are yet to watch her compete live. She previously mentioned wanting her father to see her wrestle live for her World and Wonder of Stardom Double Championship match with Tam Nakano. She eventually lost her Wonder of Stardom belt in that match, and her father was not present in the crowd as well.

In spite of her familial struggles, Mina looks to make an even bigger name for herself in the United States with AEW. She also hopes to bring her parents to America to watch her compete at an AEW show sometime in the future.
