AEW All Out: Texas Zero Hour Results:

Shane Taylor Promotions (w/ Anthony Ogog and Trish Adora) vs. The Sons of Texas and The Von Erichs (w/ Kevin Von Erich)

  • The finish of the match saw every member of Shane Taylor Promotions get pinned with an Iron Claw at the same time in a very weird moment.

Winners: The Sons of Texas and the Von Erichs

Grade: B

It was a fine way to open Zero Hour. You can’t expect much from Rhodes or Guevara since they are pulling double duty this afternoon. The winners were expected, no surprises here.

The Don Callis Family vs. Hologram, Kyle O’Reilly, Tomohiro Ishii, and Big Boom AJ (w/ Big Justice and The Rizzler)

  • The finish of the match saw Big Boom AJ hit Rocky Romero with the Power BOOM to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Hologram, Kyle O’Reilly, Tomohiro Ishii, and Big Boom AJ

Grade: B

This match was exactly what you thought it was going to be. It was fine. But let’s move on.

FTR (w/ Stokely Hathaway) vs. The Outrunners

  • The finish of the match saw Dax Harwood roll up Turbo Floyd with his feet on the ropes to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: FTR

Grade: B+

They saved the best for last with Zero Hour this afternoon. While I don’t think this was as great as their previous match on Collision 100, it was still a very good match and a solid way to cap off Zero Hour. Now bring on the main show!

AEW All In: Texas Results:

All In: Texas opens up with a video package hyping up this afternoon’s event.

AEW World Trios Championship: The Opps (c) vs. The Death Riders

  • The finish of the match saw Samoa Joe hit Wheeler Yuta with the Muscle Buster to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And still AEW World Trios Champions, The Opps

After the match, the Death Riders attack Samoa Joe and wrap a chair around his neck, and Castagnoli stomps on it. Likely taking Joe out of the equation for the Texas Death Match later on this evening. Joe is taken out on a stretcher.

Grade: B+

This was a fun opener, but kind of a downer in the aftermath. I’m assuming it was done to write Joe out of being involved in the main event. It seemed to take some air out of the crowd too, but I’m hoping the crowd will quickly rebound understanding that it was just a storyline and not a serious injury.

Men’s Casino Gauntlet Match

Entry Order:

  1. Mark Briscoe
  2. MJF
  3. Ricochet
  4. Bandido
  5. Konosuke Takeshita
  6. Mistico
  7. Josh Alexander
  8. Anthony Bowens
  9. Roderick Strong
  10. Brody King
  11. Juice Robinson
  12. Kota Ibushi
  13. The Beast Mortos
  14. Max Caster

The finish saw Mark Briscoe hit the Jay Driller on Roderick Strong. MJF tosses Briscoe out of the ring and pins Strong to win the Casino Gauntlet.

Winner: MJF

Grade: B+

This was a fun Gauntlet, but it might have been the most underwhelming one they’ve done. The other Gauntlets in the past had a different level of excitement to them that this one didn’t reach. I can’t put my finger on why, but that’s my take.

An emotional appearance from Adam Cole

Adam Cole comes out to the ring to address the crowd. Cole says he’s dealing with some health issues that are going to keep him out for a while. Cole says he’s not in the right headspace to think about retirement, but if this last time he’s out there, he just wants to thank everyone.

Adam talks about all he’s ever wanted to do was be a pro wrestler, and thanked the fans for having his back and making his dream possible. Strong and O’Reilly come out and embrace Cole in a very emotional moment.

AEW TNT Championship: Kyle Fletcher vs. Daniel Garcia vs. Dustin Rhodes vs. Sammy Guevara

  • The finish of the match saw Dustin Rhodes roll Daniel Garcia up with a small package to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And NEW AEW TNT Champion, Dustin Rhodes

Grade: N/A*

I had a hard time focusing on this match. The whole thing with Adam Cole really took me out this one. I apologize to the readers and the performers in this match who gave it their all in this match. I’m not going to grade this match and I’m trying to get my mind right for the rest of this show. Again, my apologies…

You like special entrances?

Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland both got special entrances. Ospreay got an Assassin’s Creed-themed entrance while Jojo Offerman (the wife of the late Bray Wyatt) sang Chaka Khan’s “Ain’t Nobody” for Strickland before he made his way to the ring. This is the song Swerve used on the independent scene.

The Young Bucks got a special entrance as well, coming out on a boat. It’s one of those things that’s better to be seen than to try to explain it.

The Young Bucks vs. Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland (w/ Prince Nana)

  • The finish of the match saw Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay hit Matt Jackson with a combined Hidden Blade and a House Call. Strickland scored the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: Will Ospreay and Swerve Strickland

Due to this loss, the Young Bucks are no longer EVPs in AEW.

Grade: A+

This was EXACTLY what this show needed to get back on track. That was one of the damndest tag team matches I’ve ever seen. Unbelievable work for all four men. That was special! And it was definitely something this show needed, in my opinion. Let’s hope this is the turning point of the show with nothing but classics from here on out.

Women’s Casino Gauntlet

Entry Order:

  1. Kris Statlander
  2. Megan Bayne
  3. Willow Nightingale
  4. Tay Melo
  5. Thekla
  6. Julia Hart
  7. Queen Aminata
  8. Mina Shirakawa
  9. Athena
  10. Thunder Rosa
  11. Syuri
  12. Alex Windsor

The finish saw Athena hit Mina Shirakawa with the O-Face to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: Athena

Grade: B+

A long overdue AEW push for Athena is something I can get behind. While the match wasn’t as polished as the Men’s Gauntlet, I feel like this match was much more exciting than its previous counterpart. Can’t wait to see what Athena does on the AEW side of things in the weeks to come.

FTR joins the commentary booth for the next match.

AEW World Tag Team Championship: The Hurt Syndicate (c) (w/ MVP) vs. JetSpeed vs. The Patriarchy (w/ Kip Sabian and Mother Wayne)

  • The finish of the match saw Bobby Lashley hit Christian Cage with the Spear to score the pinfall victory for his team.

Winners: And still AEW World Tag Team Champions, The Hurt Syndicate

After the match, FTR gets in Cage’s face. Wayne and Sabian try to smooth things over, but Wayne hits Cage with the Killswitch. Mother Wayne slaps Cage, and they are going to hit him with a concharito, but Adam Copeland returns with Spike in hand and cleans house. Copeland helps Cage up and tells him to go find himself before leaving.

Grade: B+

Very fun three-way. Not surprised that the Hurt Syndicate retained. Glad JetSpeed didn’t eat the pin, though. I hope they get another shot in the future. Copeland being back is long overdue. The Cage and Christian team should have been together by now, but better late than never. Let’s see where this goes.

The AEW All In: Texas triple main event starts…NOW!

Mercedes Moné comes out in a vehicle with the Texas Rangers cheerleaders for her special entrance. Toni Storm also got a special entrance, very fitting of the Timeless character.

AEW Women’s World Championship: Toni Storm (c) vs. Mercedes Moné

  • The finish of the match saw Toni Storm hit Mercedes Moné with a Storm Zero off the top rope to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And still AEW Women’s World Champion, Timeless Toni Storm

Grade: A

This match lived up to the hype. Toni and Mercedes tore the house down. I’m really glad they didn’t try to sandwich this match between the Unified Title match and the Texas Death Match. Let this go on first and let the crowd be invested. I think this was a massive success all around. Loved this match!

Kenny Omega got a spectacular special entrance for the Unified Championship match.

AEW Unified Championship: Kenny Omega (c) (w/ Kota Ibushi) vs. Kazuchika Okada (c) (w/ Don Callis)

  • The finish of the match saw Kazuchika Okada hit Kenny Omega with the Rainmaker to score the pinfall victory.

Winner: And NEW AEW Unified Champion, Kazuchika Okada

Grade: A-

It was a damn good match, but it was, in my opinion, their weakest match of the series of greats that they’ve had. Didn’t need the ref bumps and all of the interference. I enjoyed the match, it was really good. But I know it could have been better with some booking tweaks.

It’s time to get the AEW World Title out of the briefcase…

Hangman Page got a special entrance that culminated in the return of his old theme song. Moxley entered the stadium in his Death Riders pickup truck.

Texas Death Match for the AEW World Championship: Jon Moxley (c) vs. Hangman Page

  • This match saw interference from the Death Riders, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, Darby Allin, the Young Bucks, Prince Nana, and Swerve Strickland, who tossed the chain back to Hangman after taking out the Bucks. The finish of the match saw Hangman Page hit Jon Moxley with the Buckshot Lariat into a bed of nails before tossing him over the top rope to choke him with the chain until Moxley taps out.

Winner: And NEW AEW World Champion, Hangman Page

Grade: A

Hangman Page takes the title out of the briefcase and celebrates with it as AEW All In: Texas goes off the air.

AEW All In: Texas Review:

This was a show of two halves for me. And neither was bad, but the show started on the slower side for me. The Adam Cole promo really took me out of things for a bit, but then the tag match between the Young Bucks, Will Ospreay, and Swerve Strickland happened. From that point, the show took a sharp turn from me and I pretty much loved everything after that point.

Minor gripes aside, this was an excellent show. I’m sure some people will say it was too long, and I totally understand that, but I enjoyed it a great deal and feel I got my money’s worth. Here’s to a new era of AEW with Hangman as the World Champion once again.

Grade: A-
