It was recently announced that WWE will be conducting a brand new Premium Live Event on September 20th called WrestlePalooza. On the same day, Tony Khan’s promotion, AEW, will be conducting its annual All Out pay-per-view. There have been many fans online complaining about the fact that both these major events will be telecast live at the same time. Recently, WWE Hall of Famer JBL responded to the fans who were upset about the Stamford-based promotion counter-programming All Elite Wrestling.
While speaking on the latest episode of the Something to Wrestle podcast, JBL labeled the fans who were upset about WWE counter-programming AEW as snowflakes. He also mentioned that this decision by the Stamford-based promotion is good for business. He added that simultaneously, WWE is doing everything in their power to protect their product and their business.
“All these snowflakes out there going, ‘Oh, they shouldn’t run the same day.’ Blow me. God almighty, man. This is such bulls**t. I love it, I think it’s great business, I think it’s fun. This isn’t predatory business practice, this is business practice, and there’s a big freaking difference. I mean, you’re messing with guys that are alpha males. And not that Tony Khan is not. But these guys, they’re going to protect their business, and they should,” JBL said. [H/T WrestlingInc.]
Also, WrestlePalooza will be the first major WWE event that will be streamed live exclusively on ESPN in the United States.
