Carlie Bravo is not on board with Bully Ray’s recent comments about AEW.
Bully Ray made headlines on Friday when he shared his assessment of the AEW product. The Busted Open Radio host said that while he does see some bright spots in the AEW product, he feels like it’s “lost” overall.
Bully said that talent is one of the bright spots and Tony Khan’s heart is in the right place. However, he said that the company lacks a true creative direction because Tony Khan is not a real booker, and “the boys” know it too.
“Unfortunate, but… AEW, as a product, is lost,” Bully Ray wrote. “There’s certainly some bright spots (talent) – but as a company, lacks definitive direction. Is what it is. A company owned and operated by a fan with lots of $$ TK – Good guy, good heart, not a booker And “the boys” know it.”
Bully Ray’s recent remarks were a source of controversy
Fans met his statement with a mixed response, while AEW talent were obviously upset with his take. Ricochet said that he completely disagreed with Bully’s ignorant remarks. He later added that he knew the real motivation behind his statement, and knew the criticism of AEW was not coming from a good place.
Now, AEW and ROH star Carlie Bravo has weighed in, taking a more “direct” approach in his reply. The current ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion said that Bubba Ray Dudley can go eat a bucket of dicks… and Bully Ray can eat two buckets.
AEW is in the midst of a multi-date residency at the 2300 Arena in Philadelphia. This week’s episode of Dynamite scored a record-low viewership total (in its normal Wednesday 8 pm timeslot) of 472,000 viewers. The show was still the 7th-best-ranked show on cable on the night. However, it was still the second-lowest total ever. The lowest total was a Tuesday night Dynamite broadcast in October 2024 that went head-to-head with WWE NXT.
