Bully Ray Questions Why Mike Santana Lost the TNA World Title So Quickly

WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray is upset that TNA took the World title off Mike Santana so quickly.

Last week, Mike Santana lost the TNA World Championship to Frankie Kazarian on TNA Impact. Santana who faced Ryan Nemeth but Nic Nemeth theme song distracted him. That distraction allowed several WWE NXT stars, led by Robert Stone, to attack him in the ring.

Then Kazarian cashed in his trophy and took advantage of Mike Santana being hurt and defeated him for the title. Fans were unhappy because Santana held the title for only a month as many felt Santana deserved a longer reign.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray questioned why TNA took the title off Santana only one month after his huge win. He said he’s only okay with the decision if it’s part of a bigger storyline.

“Why would you take the championship off of Mike Santana one month after his big win at Bound for Glory, in Lowell, in front of the biggest house that TNA has ever had? Why? Why? Why? … If that’s why they did what they did. I have no problem with it, because there’s light at the end of the tunnel. There is payoff, and there is a bigger picture in mind for Mike Santana; that’s the wishful thinking.”

Bully Ray says TNA risks hurting Mike Santana without a strong follow-up

Bully Ray warned that if TNA doesn’t have a strong follow-up for Santana, then this decision hurts him. “So, if Tommy [Dreamer] is sitting in front of me and I go, ‘Tommy, why did you do what you did last night?.”

He said, “He goes: ‘Well, blah-blah-blah’ and he basically lays out the scenario that we just did? Then I go: great job, great idea, blah-blah-blah. If there is not a definitive follow-up for Mike Santana, which I pray to the Wrestling Gods there is, you have damaged Mike Santana.”

“You didn’t pull the trigger, the people stuck around until Boston –until Lowell– and you asked New Yorkers to drive to Lowell, Massachusetts, to continue supporting Mike Santana, and they did, and they got the payoff. If you decide to take that championship off him, it’s going to be very difficult to support that guy, no matter what happened to him.” [H/T: WrestlingInc]
