Ricky Steamboat has big praise for this former AEW World Champion.
During a recent appearance on Bill Apter’s podcast, Steamboat was asked if there’s any talent in All Elite Wrestling that stands out to him.
“I’m sort of a fan of Samoa Joe,” Steamboat said. “He’s got a mix of old school, new school.” [H/T: Fightful]
Samoa Joe will challenge “Hangman” Adam Page for the AEW World Championship inside a steel cage at Full Gear. Joe earned his shot at the title by defeating Bobby Lashley, HOOK, and Ricochet in a number-one-contender four-way match. He previously failed to beat Page at AEW WrestleDream.

Elsewhere in the same interview, Ricky Steamboat said he wasn’t a fan of the AEW Blood and Guts storyline.
“Over in this one corner, two girls are doing something, two or three girls doing something in the middle of the ring, then you go to the other ring and two or three girls are doing something. You couldn’t focus on anything because there was just so much going on. For me, it’s hard to react.”
