Happy Thanksgiving: Karyn Best and Keeley Capri Share 3 Things They’re Grateful For

Today, families across the country will sit down for their annual Thanksgiving meal, mashed potatoes, stuffing, and all. Aside from the good food, though, today is also a time that many reflect on the blessings in their lives.

WrestleZone’s Ella Jay recently sat down with two rising stars in the professional wrestling scene — Keeley Capri and Karyn Best (aka Summer Sorrell) — to spotlight the latter. For Best, whom fans knew as Summer Sorrell on WWE LFG, her gratitude is being especially extended to her fiancé, her cats, and wrestling itself this year.

“My fiancé [NXT star Kale Dixon], I’m so grateful. He’s the best,” Best said. “I love him so much. He’s just the sweetest, kindest person despite what you see on TV sometimes. He’s just absolutely amazing. I’m so grateful. I can’t wait to marry him. We’re getting married in February, so just a few months away. That’s just kind of what I’m focusing on too. I’m planning a wedding, so that’s just something really happy that I get to do and what could be more of a sad time. I’m so grateful for that. I am also grateful for my cats (one of whom is named Tinsley).”

“Just so grateful for the love I’ve developed for the sport. I think it really filled a hole that was just in my life. I’m, of course, so sad to lose something so big,” Best continued, reference her recent departure from WWE, “but I’m so grateful to have done it and to just experience the rest of this wrestling crazy world. To kind of have that in my belt, to say that I’ve already done that. It doesn’t need to be the end all be all to get back there. There’s so many opportunities in wrestling, and I’m really grateful to be able to have a lot of them.”

Currently, Best is sidelined with a back injury. Upon the turn of the new year, however, she aims to return to in-ring action.

Keeley Capri Thanks Her Friends & Family

In the case of Keeley Capri, the reigning Commonwealth Championship Wrestling Women’s Champion, she is most thankful for her friends, family, and her dogs this year.

With 2025 marking her first official year, Capri remains grateful for the peers that have helped her find her footing, and more importantly, shown her genuine kindness.

“It’s been so nice to have so many people that are going through the same thing as you that is maybe a little bit not as experienced as you and you can do something to help them, or people that are way more experienced than you and being like, ‘Hey, why don’t you go do this? Or reach out to this person.’ It’s so nice having people that, obviously not everybody in the industry is going to have your back, but finding people that genuinely want to see you succeed and it’s a back and forth thing. Like I want you to succeed and you want me to succeed, it’s just so nice,” she said.

Without her family, Capri says her path to pro wrestling likely would not have happened. And for them, she is specially thankful.

“I’m very thankful for my dog Rocky. I love him so much. The M on my wall stands for my baby that passed away last year named Molly. I’m very much into talking about animals all the time. I love them. Then I’m just thankful for my family too,” she said, “because if it wasn’t for my family, this wouldn’t be happening right now. Wrestling wouldn’t be in my DNA.”
