TNA iMPACT Results
We get a video package for TNA iMPACT’s upcoming debut on AMC, beginning January 15, 2024. We see another video package replaying Mike Santana’s promo from two weeks ago. For those unaware, Santana dropped his title to Frankie Kazarian a couple of weeks ago. Kaz is set to defend his title against JDC at Final Resolution.
Home Town Man vs. Brooks Jensen (w/ Lexis King)
- The finish of the match saw Jensen capitalize on a distraction by Lexis King with a running heel kick on HTM for the win.
Winner: Brooks Jensen
Grade: A-
A great opening match featuring the always reliable HTM and the criminally underrated Brooks Jensen. Brooks is an excellent worker but has the charisma of a whiteboard. Cody Deaner is doing a great job as Home Town Man. King’s distraction set up the final spot of the match. Good start to the show!
The Rascalz in the Tree House
The original group is back in the tree house. Trey Miguel literally calls Zack Wentz on the phone to talk about Wes Lee, who is back in TNA as Dezmond Xavier. Dezmond asks why he had to change his name in the first place. All three are unanimous in saying “office.” The Rascalz discuss their strategy ahead of Trey Miguel’s match against Mustafa Ali on Order 4.
The IInspiration are in the building
TNA Knockouts World Tag Team Champions surface in the ring for a pop. Jessie McKay and Cassie Lee reflected on their tag team title win at Against All Odds. Jessie say The IInspiration are still the Knockout Tag Team Champions despite having the odds stacked against them. The pair call out any tag team in the back to “step up, step aside, or step back.”
Tessa Blanchard and Victoria Crawford show up. Blanchard says they were ready to step up at Turning Point but she wasn’t medically cleared to compete. Tessa challenges The IInspiration to a tag team title match at TNA Final Resolution tomorrow night. Mila Moore jumps up Jessie and Cassie. The tag team champions recover from the attack and plant Moore for the Idolizer as the segment comes to a close.
Santino Marella hypes up TNA iMPACT main event
We see TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella giving a speech to the participants of the tag team main event for tonight. Marella is pumped but his enthusiasm doesn’t stop him from butchering the names of Steve Maclin, The Hardys, and Cedric Alexander. Marella tells the group to prepare for war as the show heads to another commercial break.
Dani Luna vs. Xia Brookside – TNA Knockouts Title #1 Contender’s Match
- The finish of the match saw Xia Brookside catch Dani Luna off guard with a roll-up pin for the win.
Winner: Xia Brookside
We see Lei Ying Lee clapping for her tag team partner in the aftermath of her victory. The TNA Knockouts World Champion says her first title defense is against her tag team partner. Lee says she respects Xia Brookside and they will shake hands after the match.
Grade: B+
Indi Hartwell’s run-in toward the end of the match cost Dani Luna the opportunity. This writer was expecting Luna to become the first challenger to Lei Ying Lee. The outcome will make sense only if we get Luna as the number one contender somewhere down the line. Having said that, Brookside versus Lee will be interesting to watch.
Mike Santana vs. Robert Stone
Robert Stone attacks Mike Santana before the opening bell. Stone side steps causing Santana to collide with the ring post. Santana reverses the momentum before nearly taking Stone’s head off with a Spin the Block for the win. After the match, Santana grabs the mic and tells Stone it’s his job to let the NXT locker room know Mike is on “demon time.”
Winner: Mike Santana
Grade: A-
That’s the only way it could’ve gone and it did. This writer is glad TNA didn’t book Robert Stone into a competitive match against Santana. The former TNA World Champion needs to quickly take out those who attacked and cost him his title weeks ago. It remains to be seen if Santana will be in action at TNA Final Resolution tomorrow night.
The King speaks…
Speaking of world title, TNA World Champion Frankie Kazarian addresses his upcoming title defense against JDC at Final Resolution. Kaz mocks JDC’s retirement announcement, telling him he isn’t on the level of guys like John Cena and AJ Styles. “You couldn’t be a star if you were thrown by a ninja,” he says.
FIR$T CLA$$ Penthouse with Leon Slater
AJ Francis and Rich Swann are in the ring. Francis says Slater is still the TNA X Division Champion because Swann couldn’t get the job done. He the welcomes “soon to be former X Division Champion” Leon Slater. The champion comes out. Francis promotes his album before calling out Slater’s chances at TNA Final Resolution.
Slater tells Francis his breath stinks. The champion says he’s successful in his own right. Rich Swann is successful in his own right. Francis says they won’t clash tonight because he’s here to celebrate his future as the TNA X Division Champion. He hands Slater an empty glass before joking the champion isn’t of legal age to drink.
Francis delivers a cheap shot. He tries to put Slater through the table but the champion evades. AJ slams the table onto Slater. Francis holds Slater for Swann to hit him with the belt. Swann struggles before putting the belt down. Francis still stands tall after planting Slater with a huge chokeslam to cap off the segment.
We hear from The System
The System talk JDC’s upcoming title match against Frankie Kazarian. Alisha Edwards says JDC will always be family but they need a new member. The group says whoever replaces Dirty Dango must trust The System.
JDC addresses his upcoming TNA World Championship match against Frankie Kazarian. Dirty Dango says he’s heard Kaz mocking his career. JDC asks Kaz how many WrestleMania appearances he’s had on his resume. Dango says they both came up in the business almost at the same time. He respects Kaz but he didn’t have to make things personal by bringing his marriage into the mix. JDC says he wants to step away while he can and he’s going to bring the fight to Kaz at TNA Final Resolution.
Mustafa Ali vs. Trey Miguel
- The finish of the match saw Ali tap out Miguel with a sharpshooter for the win.
Winner: Mustafa Ali
Grade: A+
What a great match on a weekly episode of TNA iMPACT. Ali is arguably the best TNA has to offer. He just makes everything look so smooth and effortless. Props to Miguel for some insane spots. The sliding DDT and the Canadian Destroyer spots looked amazing. Looking forward to The Rascalz versus Order 4 at Final Resolution tomorrow night!

The announced card is as follows:

The Hardys, Steve Maclin, and Cedric Alexander vs. Lexis King, Stacks, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe
Matt and Jeff Hardy distract the NXT boys long enough for Steve Maclin and Cedric Alexander to sneak up from behind before the bell. Maclin and Alexander take care of Lexis King and Stacks inside the ring until the referee calls for the match to begin.
- The finish of the match saw Lexis King strike Steve Maclin with his cane, allowing Stacks to pick up the win.
Winners: Lexis King, Stacks, Tyson Dupont, and Tyriek Igwe
After the match, team NXT is celebrating outside until Stacks gets a death stare from TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella. It’s funny when wrestling blurs the line between kayfabe and reality. Marella could very well be Stacks future father-in-law since Channing is dating his daughter Arianna Grace behind the scenes.
Grade: A-
A brilliant multi-man outing to cap off the go-home episode of TNA iMPACT for Final Resolution. Steve Maclin was the MVP of the match, in this writer’s humble opinion. The closing stretch was chaotic but in a good way.
Overall Grade: A-
A fantastic show from top to bottom. This writer didn’t like the outcome of the TNA Knockouts World Championship number one contender’s match. The IInspiration segment was okay. Mustafa Ali versus Trey Miguel was clearly the match of the night, and really gave us a preview of things to come at Final Resolution. TNA kicks off the road to AMC debut with in convincing fashion. Now, all eyes are on Final Resolution tomorrow night.
