AJ Lee recounted the moment Big E “almost murdered” her on live television.
The April 8, 2013, episode of WWE RAW featured a moment that saw Big E almost take out AJ Lee when she and Dolph Ziggler accompanied him to his match against Daniel Bryan. Big E accidentally hit Lee on the chest, who was walking behind him, during his entrance.
While AJ Lee no-sold it like a champ, she looked back at the moment during a Q&A session at a bookstore to promote her memoir. She noted that wearing a padded bra saved her life that night.
“I had to wear a padded bra at all times while wrestling,” AJ Lee began. “Because I look like a 12-year-old girl, and none of the other girls do. I think I tweeted that night, ‘A padder bra saved my life.’
“We got to the back, and he was like, ‘Oh my God!’ He was on the verge of tears and was like, ‘What are we going to do? Are you ok?’ To be a really good friend, I was like, ‘Let me make him feel so bad about this.’
“Throughout the week, I told him I went to a doctor, my sternum was broken. I told him, like, I was reaching for water, and I couldn’t do it. So, I just text him throughout the week, like all this stuff, and he’s like, ‘Oh my God, are you serious?’ I was like, ‘No, I’m joking, like, I’m fully lying.’ But yeah, every now and then, I do tell him that he almost murdered me,” AJ Lee said.
