Could a former champion be making their return from injury later today on WWE SmackDown?
Today’s episode of WWE SmackDown will air early for international viewers at 2 PM ET on Netflix as the event takes place at the Uber Arena in Berlin, Germany. And a new report has revealed that an injured former champion is backstage at the show.
According to Fightful’s Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), former WWE United States Champion Jacob Fatu is backstage at SmackDown.
Fatu hasn’t been seen since he was mysteriously taken out backstage ahead of his number one contender’s match against Drew McIntyre. Fatu was written off programming for a dental procedure and seems to be set to return imminently.
Sapp reports that Fatu is in good shape ahead of his return. However, he’s unable to confirm that he’ll appear on today’s broadcast.
Despite that, we find it hard to believe WWE would fly a previously injured talent to Germany not to use them. So we shall see soon enough.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.
