Billy Gunn is known for his time in WWE, and especially as a part of the legendary group D-Generation X. Recently, Gunn explained what made the group so special.
Speaking to All Real Wrestling in a recent interview, Gunn explained that the group’s dynamics and friendship helped them thrive. According to Gunn, every member of the group knew their role to a tee, and never tried to outshine the other in any moment.
“The best thing about DX…is once all of us got together, we all knew our position,” said Gunn. “It’s not ‘Hey, I’m better than Hunter, I’m gonna go for your spot.’ It was everybody knew their spot, everybody was happy in their spot. And as we work like that, it was amazing, and that’s why it was amazing.”
Gunn went on to mention that the group staying tight-knit and not allowing other people in also helped. A lack of power struggle kept the group going forever, and the stable remains one of the most beloved groups in WWE history.
“We didn’t let other people come in. We were super good with the positioning that everybody was in. Because…for that kind of thing to work for me, you have to have somebody on top, which was Hunter. You have to have a supporting cast, which was the rest of us. Kid knew his spot, Chyna knew her spot, and me and Brian knew our spot, and it was okay.”
