Tommaso Ciampa is the reigning AEW TNT Champion and has a new name for his title as well.
In a social media post, Ciampa shared a photo of himself holding the belt. Unlike past titles, which he’s nicknamed “goldie,” the TNT Championship goes by the name of Silvey. Ciampa jokingly listed out some “birth” stats for the belt, including when he won it, how much it weighs, and the fact that Ciampa’s daughter, Willow, “loves her new baby sister.”
Ciampa won the belt by defeating Mark Briscoe on last week’s episode of AEW Collision. In the match, he hit a big running knee on Briscoe after avoiding a Jay Driller to capture the title. Backstage at the show, he was seen celebrating with his family as well.
Ciampa said that nothing would happen without his family, and credited them with the decision to move to AEW. He then thanked the AEW crowd, and shared his respect for Mark Briscoe. He said he’s heard forever that AEW is the place where the best wrestlers in the world are, and he’s already a champion. With that, he told the belt he loved it, and said his daughter had a new big sister to go celebrate with.
