Oba Femi made a strong statement about becoming a future WWE Champion after attacking Brock Lesnar on WWE RAW.
Femi shocked fans when he hit Lesnar with a From Grace powerbomb during the opening segment of WWE RAW. After that, WWE made their WrestleMania 42 match official.
Now, as Femi gets ready to face Lesnar in one of the biggest matches of his career, he has made a strong statement. He talked about his future and made it clear that he believes his moment is coming soon.
Oba Femi confident about winning a WWE title
Speaking to Shak Wrestling, Femi said he has a strong chance of winning a main roster title while still in his 20s. “I think the odds are very high. They’re stacked in my favor. Like, I said, I’m young, I’m spry, I’m ready to go. I’m hungry — hungrier than a lot of these 47-year-olds, I’ll tell you that.”
He also said that a new generation is ready to take over. “So I think we’re going to see that happen very soon, because it’s not just me. It’s me, it’s Bron [Breakker], it’s Dominik [Mysterio]. There’s so much going on right now when it comes to the young talent.”
“Well, it’s very good because at the end of the day, those older guys are doing their thing — they’re killing it — but at the same time, Father Time always wins. A lot of them are 44, 45, 46. They’re on their way out. They have one foot out the door.”
The former WWE NXT Champion believes this is the perfect moment for him to step up. “So this is the time for someone like ‘The Ruler’ to come in, take their place, and fulfill that destiny. I’ve built trust with them. I’ve built equity in NXT with everything I did with the NXT Championship all those classic matches I had. I feel like when they’ve seen the body of work, they’re like, ‘Okay, we have something here.’ So I think it’s good that they’re putting that trust in me because I think it’s well deserved.” [H/T: f4wonline]
