  • Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd – Coffin Match
  • Speedball Bailey vs. Mark Davis

AEW Dynamite Results

Toni Storm is the victim of a mysterious assault moments before the show goes live. With the former AEW Women’s World Champion unable to compete, Tony Khan has booked Mina Shirakawa to replace her in the No Holds Barred Match against Marina Shafir.

Will Ospreay vs. Blake Christian

  • The finish of the match saw Will Ospreay hit a second Hidden Blade on Blake Christian for the win.

Winner: Will Ospreay

Ospreay has the mic. He acknowledges the crowd’s “welcome back” chants before calling out Jon Moxley. Ospreay says he can snap necks with his “bare f*cking hands,” unlike Jon Moxley, who needs a weapon.

Mox’s music hits, but Ospreay goes straight after the Death Rider in the crowd. Ospreay throws a trash can at Mox, and the fight spills into the ring. Will sets Mox up for a Tiger Driver, but PAC makes the save with a big boot.

The Bastard then catches his longtime rival in a submission before security separates the two. The angle ends with Ospreay clutching his neck as PAC looks on from the outside.

Grade: B+

The match didn’t need to be competitive, but that’s what AEW is mostly about. Ospreay dropping an f-bomb on live TV got a big reaction from the crowd. PAC’s assault on Ospreay suggests we could see another match between the two before Will gets his hands on Moxley.

Will Ospreay isn’t done…

The Bang Bang Gang are making their entrance when Ospreay recovers and attacks PAC from behind. With PAC out of the picture, The Death Riders are down to two, as Mox and Wheeler Yuta regroup to take on Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, and Juice Robinson in a multi-man match on AEW Dynamite.

Bang Bang Gang vs. The Death Riders

  • The finish of the match saw Jon Moxley plant Ace Austin with a Death Rider for the win.

Winners: Jon Moxley & Wheeler Yuta

Grade: B-

Remember when the Bang Bang Gang were the hottest act in All Elite Wrestling? This is what happens when too many factions are fighting for control. Yuta catching strays on commentary was hilarious, though.

Parking Lot Challenge

A promo for the Coffin Match airs. We then see Gabe Kidd deliver a message for Darby Allin. Kidd says he isn’t going to wait to get in the ring and calls out Darby Allin to meet him in the parking lot on AEW Dynamite.

We hear from Kenny Omega

The Cleaner issues a massive challenge to Swerve Strickland. Omega mocks Strickland for calling himself the most dangerous man in AEW. He proposes they run it back, but Swerve has to put his number one contendership opportunity on the line.

Darby Allin is a mad man!

Gabe Kidd is out in the parking lot when a car almost runs him over. It’s Darby Allin, and the two immediately start to brawl. Allin eventually gets the upper hand, using a cloth potentially laced with chemicals to incapacitate his opponent.

Darby then forces Gabe into the trunk and drives off, with the vehicle eventually flipping over. We then see Darby crawling out of the wreckage. The next shot shows Gabe’s motionless body hanging out of the trunk.

Darby finally brings Gabe to the arena, where the Coffin Match officially begins.

Darby Allin vs. Gabe Kidd – Coffin Match

  • The finish of the match saw Darby Allin push Gabe Kidd into the coffin with a suicide dive for the win.

Winner: Darby Allin

Darby says he’s going to hold that throttle until he sees God or the AEW World Championship. The promo ends with Darby telling MJF he’s coming after him.

Grade: A-

Darby is unkillable. He intentionally flipped the car to put Gabe at a disadvantage, putting his own body in harm’s way as well. The post-match promo was interesting, given that so many men are chasing a shot at the AEW World Championship. Also, props to Gabe Kidd for wrestling in a straightjacket.

Jurassic Bucks

Jungle Boy is living up to his gimmick. Jack Perry emerges from his bus to join The Young Bucks. Nick Jackson notes that they’re going up against someone they once considered family, Okada, as the three prepare for tonight’s trios match.

Swerve Strickland responds to Kenny Omega

Prince Nana tells the crowd to welcome Swerve Strickland. Swerve recounts his war with Brody King this past Sunday at AEW Revolution. Strickland is in the mood for a philosophical promo.

He says that while he enjoyed beating Brody in his hometown, he wasn’t satisfied because the real power in AEW lies elsewhere. He blames The Young Bucks for costing him the AEW World Championship match at Dynasty 2025.

Strickland then focuses his attention on Kenny Omega. Unbeknownst to Swerve, he is the number one contender — a fact Omega referenced in his promo earlier on AEW Dynamite. Swerve says he has already beaten Omega, but there’s one thing Omega brings to the table: power.

He challenges Omega to put up his EVP title on the line, promising to beat Omega and take down All Elite Wrestling’s new executive vice president.

We hear from Mike Bailey

Renee Paquette asks Mike Bailey for his thoughts on winning back the AEW Trios Tag Team Championship at Revolution. Bailey says he looks up to people with tenacity—people like Kenny Omega, who scratched and clawed their way to become one of the biggest stars in the world today.

Mike Bailey vs. Mark Davis

  • The finish of the match saw Mike Bailey hit Mark Davis with the Ultima Weapon for the win.

Winner: Mike Bailey

Grade: A+

Great, great match. From his tremendous rematch against Kyle Fletcher to tonight’s extraordinary bout against Mark Davis, Speedball Mike Bailey is on a roll. For those unfamiliar with his work, you’re really missing out on some brilliant in-ring action.

As for Davis, he’s slowly finding his footing in singles competition.

MJF’s post-Revolution comments

MJF’s post-Revolution main event comments air on AEW Dynamite. Friedman is bloody and battered. He praises himself for having the greatest Dog Collar, Iron Man, and Texas Deathmatch in the history of wrestling.

The AEW World Champion seemingly confirms reports that Hangman Page will be away from TV for the foreseeable future. Max then lists all the nicknames he has given himself before asking the cameraman to field a question.

When asked what’s next for the champion, he says he’s going to Disneyland, then kisses the camera with his bloody mouth.

The Rainmaker speaks

Okada, Trent, and Rocky Romero are backstage. The Rainmaker mocks The Young Bucks for thinking he was part of their family. Okada says he’s only loyal to the Don Callis Family, unlike Takeshita, who “catches strays” for shaking hands with Jon Moxley at AEW Revolution.

Marina Shafir speaks out ahead of her No Holds Barred Match against Mina Shirakawa.

Mina Shirakawa vs. Marina Shafir – No Holds Barred Match

  • The finish of the match saw Mina Shirakawa hit a backhand followed by a spike piledriver on Marina Shafir for the win.

Winner: Mina Shirakawa

Grade: C+

Marina Shafir Irish whips Shirakawa into the corner, then walks at a snail’s pace instead of delivering a running attack. The whole spot was so awkward it made this writer chuckle. The backdrop suplex on the table was reckless, but thankfully, both women came out of the match without serious injury.

We hear from Andrade El Idolo

Andrade is about to address his AEW Revolution victory against Bandido when he’s approached by Jon Cruz holding a large briefcase. Serpentico urges Andrade to accept the briefcase.

Cruz has Don Callis on FaceTime. Callis tells MJF that Andrade is his “money man” and that he should accept the money. Andrade questions whether the Don Callis Family is working with MJF. Don admits there’s a conflict of interest but says the partnership is purely business. He adds that MJF wants Darby Allin removed from world title contention, and the Callis Family will handle the job.

Reluctantly, Andrade accepts the briefcase.

Jack Perry & The Young Bucks vs. Kazuchika Okada, Trent Beretta & Rocky Romero

  • The finish of the match saw The Young Bucks assist Jack Perry with a running knee strike on Rocky Romero before Matt Jackson secured the winning pin.

Winners: Jack perry and The Young Bucks

Nick Jackson reflects on the night with a bittersweet tone. He says that while they have a great match teaming with Perry, they messed up at AEW Revolution. He admits they lost in front of their children and family and that FTR are the better team. Matt Jackson adds that they went to his birthday party afterward, but he wasn’t able look his family in the eye. He then recalls his father’s uplifting words, reminding them to remember who they are.

Matt teases another tag team title program before “Mettalingus” blasts through the speakers as Cope walks to the ring. Christian Cage arrives next. Clearly, E&C disagree with The Bucks favoring themselves to take on FTR again.

Cope acknowledges the “Holy s***” chants from the crowd. He says that he and Christian respect The Young Bucks and that their match against FTR at Revolution is one of the best wrestling matches they’ve ever seen. Cope adds that he can relate to The Bucks — not only were their families attacked by FTR, but his wife, Beth Copeland, was targeted as well. He references Beth’s spinal fusion surgery, saying FTR values holding the tag team titles more than their families. Cope then confirms that he and Christian will face FTR for the World Tag Team Titles at AEW Dynasty.

Cage adds a bit of heel flavor to his promo, saying they will not only prove they’re the best tag team of their generation but also prove it over The Bucks. FTR’s music hits. Stokely Hathaway tries to speak but is told to shut up by the men in the ring. Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler get in only to be taken out by the four men already standing.

Cope, Christian, and The Bucks each hold one end of the titles simultaneously, prompting the crowd to chant “Fight! Fight! Fight!” The Bucks then relinquish their hold on the titles and leave the ring, leaving Cope and Christian as the show goes off the air.

Grade: B+

Good match followed by an interesting main event. Why did FTR just barge into the ring knowing they’d get their asses kicked? This writer loved Christian being a complete asshole. Can’t wait to see Cope and Edge vs. The Bucks after Matt and Nick somehow screw the legendary tag team at AEW Dynasty.

Overall Grade: B+

The crowd was my least favorite part of the night. Tonight’s show deserved some big pops — the Coffin Match could’ve benefitted from a louder reaction. Still, it ended up being a great match. Speedball vs. Davis was my favorite match of the night. This week’s episode did a solid job of building the AEW World Title picture. Shafir vs. Shirakawa was okay. Tony Schiavone’s remarks during the main event (about how you can always disown your troublemaking children like he did) put a smile on this writer’s face.

The post-main event segment suggests The Bucks will inadvertently cost Cope and Christian the titles at AEW Dynasty, as we have to get to E&C vs. The Bucks and a triple threat featuring FTR as well. That’s it for tonight — this writer will be back next week with AEW Dynamite coverage.
