AEW Star Says Will Ospreay’s Post-Wrestling Career Plans Would Be Chaos

David Finlay doesn’t see Will Ospreay’s dream of being a mail carrier after wrestling becoming a reality.

Finlay and The Dogs’ Clark Connors and Gabe Kidd recently spoke with WrestleZone about their AEW debut. Finlay is a fourth-generation pro wrestler, following in his father, Fit Finlay, his grandfather, and both great-grandfathers’ footsteps. When asked if he ever had aspirations for a non-wrestling career, Finlay said he’s always liked fighting, and pro wrestling pays well.

“No, I just wanted to get paid to beat people up, you know? It had nothing to do with pro wrestling,” Finlay said. “It’s just that I like fighting, and I can make money fighting, you know?”

“For me personally, it’s like, yeah, wrestling’s great and all, but we’ve got to put this face on television somewhere, you know? It’s got to be on billboards somehow,” Clark Connors added. “So wrestling is an easy way to do that. But I’ve just got to be out there. You know what I mean? You’re missing out on something if you haven’t seen my promo. You see what I do out there? It’s for a real thing. It’s because it’s going to make money just from people seeing me every day.”

David Finlay says Will Ospreay would get lost on his postal route

WrestleZone’s Bill Pritchard then mentioned that Will Ospreay said he wants to be a Royal Mail carrier after his in-ring career is over. Finlay laughed and took aim at Ospreay, saying it would result in chaos.

“He’ll get lost. Do you think he can read a map? Do you really think that Will Ospreay can look at an address and match it to the one in front of him? You think he is that capable? Because I do not,” Finlay said. “I think no one’s getting their mail. Amazon packages are going to be late. It’s going to be chaos, dude. He doesn’t have what it takes to be a postman.”

Suffice it to say, The Dogs never wanted to be doctors or lawyers. A blue-collar post-wrestling career doesn’t seem likely, either.

“No, dude. I did eighth grade twice,” Finlay added. “I’m only good at fighting people.”
