The WWE WrestleMania 42 card is reportedly near finalization.
The WrestleMania 42 card is reportedly nearing completion as WWE moves closer to locking in the final lineup for its biggest premium live event of the year. The show is set to feature action across two nights, Saturday and Sunday. As of now, the current working structure is said to include 14 total matches.
According to WrestleVotes Radio via Fightful Select, the plan within WWE is to slightly expand the already announced lineup. The report notes that the promotion is currently building toward a 14-match card across both nights, up from the previously discussed 12 matches.
One of the new WrestleMania 42 matches might involve a celebrity
One of the matches expected to be officially added features popular streamer IShowSpeed. The internet personality inadvertently played a key role on a recent episode of RAW. Monday’s show saw Austin Theory and Logan Paul capture the World Tag Team Championship.
Following the match, The Vision reportedly took IShowSpeed under their wing, setting up a potential six-man tag team match. The rumored bout would pit Speed and The Vision against LA Knight and The Usos. This would add another high-profile crossover storyline to WrestleMania weekend.
Knight just attacked Speed during a livestream on Thursday, so it looks like WWE may be moving forward with those plans.
The report also suggests that WWE is considering additional talent from AAA and SmackDown to round out the multi-man ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship.
The current lineup includes defending champion Penta, Je’Von Evans, Dragon Lee, JD McDonagh, and Rusev. Final entrants are still being evaluated.
WrestleZone will provide live coverage of WWE WrestleMania 42 on April 18 and 19.
