King of the Ring winner Oba Femi was expected to reveal which world champion he planned to challenge on the June 29 edition of WWE Raw. Instead, his celebration took an unexpected turn when Brock Lesnar returned and set the stage for another blockbuster showdown.
With their rivalry already split at one victory apiece, the latest confrontation ensured there will be one final chapter.
This time, however, the stakes won’t just be personal — they’ll be surrounded by steel.
Brock Lesnar accepts Oba Femi’s SummerSlam challenge inside Hell in a Cell
Oba Femi opened Raw to celebrate his King of the Ring victory before announcing his next move. Before he could address his championship opportunity, Brock Lesnar interrupted alongside Paul Heyman.
Brock Lesnar congratulated Oba Femi on winning the tournament before accusing him of calling him names behind his back. He then reminded the reigning King of the Ring, “You know what they say, talk s**t, get hit,” before delivering a low blow and planting him with an F-5.
The attack didn’t keep Femi down for long. After getting back to his feet, he fired back by saying the ambush amounted to what he expected of Lesnar. Femi added that while Lesnar believed the insults were behind his back, he was standing in front of him now and was “still a bitch.”
Oba Femi challenged Lesnar to settle their rivalry once and for all at SummerSlam. The two competitors currently stand tied with one victory each after Femi defeated Lesnar at WrestleMania 42 before The Beast evened the score at Clash in Italy.
Lesnar accepted the challenge, but only under one condition.
He demanded the match take place inside Hell in a Cell in Minneapolis. Shortly afterward, Raw General Manager Adam Pearce made the bout official backstage.
While Femi is temporarily bypassing his guaranteed world title opportunity, his focus is firmly on finishing unfinished business with Lesnar. The Beast may have opened the cage door, but at SummerSlam there will be nowhere left to run — and nowhere left to hide.
