WWE’s Liv Morgan Reveals When She Knew Recent Injury Was Serious

Liv Morgan details her 2025 shoulder injury.

On the June 16, 2025 edition of WWE Raw, Liv Morgan prepared to wrestle Kairi Sane. Just seconds into the action, though, a single-leg takedown from Sane resulted in an awkward landing and shoulder injury for Morgan.

While appearing on Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Morgan revealed the moment she knew her injury was serious.

“I just took a weird fall, tried to brace myself, which is stupid. As soon as it happened, I knew, just because you can’t feel anything,” Morgan said. “But first of all, it’s like such an intense pain, then it just goes away, and then you can’t feel anything because your shoulder is just not connected. So yeah, I knew. I rolled out the ring. I tried to pop it back in. Medical came and tried to pop it back in, and it was kind of just like, I can’t continue, I can’t do anything else. So I had to throw in the towel, which I hated.

“I think I tried to be really optimistic until my MRI news, I was like, I think I’m okay, but I had done the same thing two years prior. So I knew it wasn’t okay, but I didn’t really want to speak it into existence.”

Morgan’s injury turned out to be a dislocated shoulder that would keep her out of action for several months. As such, fellow Judgment Day member Roxanne Perez stepped in to replace her as co-WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion alongside Raquel Rodriguez.

Morgan Calls Recent On-Screen Return ‘Iconic’

Upon being medically cleared, Morgan returned to WWE programming at Survivor Series to help Dominik Mysterio regain the WWE Intercontinental Championship. Morgan initially seemed to turn on Mysterio when she smacked him across the face. That, of course, later turned out to be a ruse as the former Women’s World Champion then nailed John Cena with a low blow and a title belt shot to set Mysterio up for victory.

“I don’t even know how I did that [face]. My eyes, I was like, Whoa, dilated. I must have tapped into something right there. I don’t know. But yeah, it was so iconic, and I couldn’t have written a better return, and I mean that so wholeheartedly,” Morgan said. “I couldn’t, first of all, I would not even have come up with that myself that was so much more grand and special to me than anything I could have thought of myself. So I was just so happy and honored.”
