CM Punk’s Role In Grand Theft Auto 6 Rumor Killer

CM Punk being in Grand Theft Auto 6 would be pretty cool, but it’s not accurate.

A post by PC Gamer (via Kurrco) featured an interview with HipHopGamer, who claimed to have a bit of an exclusive about a mission in Grand Theft Auto 6.

“There’s a special side mission with a major rapper that left CM Punk bloody by accident,” HipHopGamer said.

Some fans were left confused by the statement. Many wondered what CM Punk had to do with GTA 6, or who had left him bloodied.

“I’m sorry what!? CM Punk!?” one fan replied.

CM Punk was accidentally cut open by a co-star

The post was a bit vague, but a video clip of the original interview provided more context. Fans might remember CM Punk starred in a movie called Night Patrol earlier this year. One of his co-stars was Freddie Gibbs, who accidentally cut Punk open with a gun while filming the movie.

“It was a scary moment, for real. But I’m going to tell the truth,” Gibbs said at the film’s premiere event (via TMZ). “I haven’t told anybody this s–t either, I thought CM Punk was mad at me for real, for an hour. I was walking around that motherf—er for a while like, this might be a real fight in this motherf—er with a wrestler. I’m not going to win this s–t. When we did the scene when I had to shoot him when he was trying to get in the apartment, I had the gun. And I swung that s–t up, and it cut his hand for real.”

Gibbs was worried that Punk would be angry, but he wasn’t. The two ended up finishing the scene without any issue.

So there you have it, CM Punk isn’t in Grand Theft Auto 6. However, it sounds like Freddie Gibbs will have his own side mission.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles.
